“Angela, dear, you do realize what that means, don’t you?”
“I do,” I said, meeting her gaze head-on. “And I don’t care. I didn’t choose this, Luna. The Moon Goddess did. He’s my mate.”
She sat back slowly, exhaling as if she didn’t quite know how to respond. I could see the conflict in her, part of her wanted to argue, to convince me this wasn’t a good idea, but the other part probably knew she had no right to question the bond between mates.
After a long silence, she finally spoke. “I just… I didn’t expect this. You and Aaron.” She shook her head slightly. “That will cause quite a stir. He is practically a nobody child. Won’t you like to have a secured future?”
