I looked at each of them slowly. “What if I told you there was another way?” The youngest blinked. “What way?” “Leave.” They stared at me like I’d just suggested flying. “You’re joking,” one of the others said. “I’m not.” I leaned forward slightly. “Join us.” The tallest wolf narrowed his eyes. “Us?” “We have wolves,” I said. “And vampires.” That got their full attention. “Vampires?” the seventeen-year-old blurted. “You’re fighting with vampires?”

he coughs while rolling his eyes, “-trust me. I should know. They all couldn’t wait to run the basic tests to find out. I know you like to live in a world of your own, but can we not turn this into another conspiracy?” “He has a point, kid. And anyway, Willow’s from a totally different City. We don’t know if that’s a common colour for fur over there. Time has progressed and, as Elijah said, so have the wolves. Our cousin, Tayen, for example, can outsprint any wolf that challenges her despite being tiny. I hiss and growl as both my vampire and werewolf come together and agree that those two really need to die, but I know I am not enough yet to take on an Alpha and a Beta on my own.
