I wordlessly climbed onto the bed and looked at her laptop screen. She was on Wattpad, typing away at one of the stories she was busy writing. I frowned. She only ever updated so late at night when she was extremely bothered or extremely sad. Writing was her escape from reality: almost like how reading was mine. I gently took the bowl out of her hands and placed it beside the bed. "Babe, what's wrong?" I asked her gently. She was staring into her lap and I could barely see her expression through the curtain of brown hair surrounding her face. I sighed and put my arms around her, causing her head to rest on my shoulder.

Cliques had been established already and I couldn't break in . At first, the other kids weren't always mean . They didn't call me names . They didn't bully me . It all started to get worse in the month of November when Ms. Adams , my teacher asked us to write about our favorite thing in the world . I wrote my favorite thing to be the ability to see the midnight black sky with the shinny stars . It was a whole three page essay mixed with lots of emotions but the other kids considered it nonsense . While the teacher read my essay to the class they laughed out loud pointing fingers at me .

It gave me those sad puppy eyes like, “Hey, don’t forget meeeee...” Fast forward to April 2nd, the day of destiny when I finally dusted off this bad boy and said, “Okay, let’s get weird.” Suddenly, words started flying faster than Juan’s bullets. I was writing like my laptop was on fire, smashing out thousands of words daily, fueled by caffeine, stubbornness, and maybe a little bit of madness. By May? Boom. Over 100,000 words of delicious, messy, mafia madness. (Shakes booty happily).

Ria and Luca, Jade, Finn… they are not just words anymore, they are people, maybe forever. This story also teach me many things. About patience, about creativity, about human feeling. About love. About danger. About happiness. I learn that writing is not easy, is not only fun, is work, struggle, but also reward. When I write scene, I feel tired but also happy, like I just live thousand lives in one life. I think that is why writing story is special, because no money, no fame, can make me feel this way. Only story, only characters, only readers.
