It sounded again. "You want to tell me you're not hearing that growling?" I turned and a furry creature growled at me. "Bear!" I screamed. Everywhere erupted with screams as everyone stood up. The brown bear swung its head and attempted to corner us. "Why is a bear in our campsite?" I asked in a voice laced with fear as I peeked out from behind Kenneth.

Mina Wolf... Doctor Bear walked out of the office and stepped closer to the shelf that was holding several equipments and medicines. He mumbled something as he picked up a few bags of herbs alone with a Mortar and a pestle. He pulled a large chair and sat down in front of the shelf, giving his back to me.

He asked. “Garett, the bears were in order. He loved bears. It was the way he was, but he had to have some things in order. This one and that one are out of place.” Sara said as she should know. She pulled the bear, and it started to come off too easy for her. She took the other bear off as well. When she felt the bear, she knew there was something in it. “There is something in both of them.”

I think I can string Barrett along for a few days, to give the San Diego pack time to get out here, but I tell them to come as fast as possible, switching between drivers and sleeping on the way rather than stopping to rest. I tell them not to bring the babies, worried about the fate that might befall Stella or Samuel if they ended up out here near an angry bear clan. How many bears do you think you’ll bag this year?" "Bears?!" Holly blurted out behind me. "What bears?" "Oh don’t you know?" the female elder chimed in. "We hunt bears in the North."

Feigning concern, I stopped abruptly and warned, "We can't go any further. The bear is nursing her cubs up ahead. If we intrude, it'll see us as a threat and attack." Bonnie looked unconcerned, even excited. It was clear she lacked even basic wilderness knowledge. She scoffed. "Kate, you're too timid. What's there to be afraid of? This is a rare sight. Of course, we have to capture it on camera. Right, Damon?" Damon gave her a doting smile. "This is why we came, after all. We can't miss it." I forced myself to explain calmly, "Nursing animals are highly territorial. If provoked, they won't hesitate to attack. The consequences could be deadly."

They do have access to weapons through the countless shipments they’ve stolen from us over the past few months. I crouch down as I near the other side, my lips parting in a gasp, and I take in the mayhem.
