The werewolf curse; a curse that condemns us to turn and gain our full strength only on the full moon is every werewolf’s dream to get rid of it. Seth’s mate, Daisy has never been accepted since she moved into the pack house. All the plots by some pack members to drive Daisy away came to a terrible end when Daisy took in and gave Seth an heir. And now, because of Seth’s sentiments, his child, Gabriel has to be bedridden till he reaches maturity and gets his wolf, it’s speculated that he’d be cured then.

"You guys know what the situation is like in this industry this year. I need to cut our end-of-the-year bonus by half in order to overcome this difficult period." My boss, Peter Hurley, claims that things are difficult in the industry right now, yet his wrist still showcases the luxury watch that he's just bought. My 20,000-dollar bonus is reduced to 700 dollars. In addition, I also received a plaque that says "Award for Outstanding Contribution". "This plaque is worth a lot, Soren. It represents the acknowledgement this company has for you. Don't be so petty when it comes to money." As I stare at the plaque in my hand, I can't help but scoff furiously. "Fine. I won't be that petty when it comes to money. I hope you won't be that petty either when you're paying next month's rent." Peter is stunned momentarily. "What do you mean by that?" I toss the plaque into the trash can. "What I mean is, I'm the landlord of this building. From next month onward, the rent will be increased ten times. If you refuse to accept the new rent, you can pack up and scram."

. No one argues with me. I sit there for a long time. Eventually, footsteps approach again. I do not look up. “Selene,” a voice says. I recognize it. I lift my head slowly. He exhales sharply. “I came as soon as I could.” I look down at Rowen. Then back at Dorian. “You missed it,” I say calmly. He frowns. “Missed what?” I laugh. “Our son,” I say. “You missed our son.” His eyes shift to the bed. To the stillness. To the quiet. Something flickers across his face. Annoyance. Disbelief. Not grief. “Selene,” he says. “What are you talking about.” I stand up slowly, still holding Rowen. “He waited for you,” I say. “He asked for you.” Dorian rubs his temple. “This is not the time for dramatics.” I stare at him. “Say that again,” I say softly. He sighs. “We will arrange the healers again tomorrow. Right now, I have people waiting.” I feel something dangerous rise in my chest. “Tomorrow,” I repeat. “Hmm. Okay.” He steps close r. Looks at Rowen more carefully now. “Why is he not responding,” he asks. I meet his eyes. “Because he is dead,” I say. Dorian freezes. “What,” he says. I take a step toward him. “Say his name,” I tell him. He hesitates. “Rowen.” “Say it again,” I say. “Rowen,” he repeats, irritated now. I lift my chin. “He died asking if he was good enough for you,” I say. “So tell me, Alpha Nightfall.” My voice trembles for the first time. “Was he.”
