Blood painted his plans, the qualm thirst made the man’s eyes darkened, he was fighting the urge, the beast in him who was lying awake. “You should not be here, you know.” He said slowly. His voice was changing tone and of course Tommy is naïve. How can a mere 7 year old take note of suspicions, of crimes, of the evil that the world are filled with? Tom and Evelyn drove to a coffee shop in town to pick Eric and then he took them to Adam 's house. They wanted to go with Edwin but he couldn't pick up their calls. Tom mumbled. "Oh is he?" no statement could be more absentminded than that. "So, he begot you or got you here, which one? " she continues to ask. Mhmm. Tom cleared his throat. "The old man is not here. " he declared grandly like a Chinese kung-fu expert. "Oh! Uh?" the young lady seemed caught off guard. "Yea. Didn't you say you came looking for the old man? " some how Tom is having a bad feeling about this.

We'd both lived too long in dangerous situations to fully relax into peace. "Someone has to balance out your reckless confidence," I replied, but I was smiling. Around two-thirty, Tommy finally emerged from his room, looking rumpled and disoriented but much better rested than he had at the hospital. His arm was still in a sling, and he moved carefully, but the pain medication seemed to be working. "Hey sleepyhead," I said as he appeared in the kitchen doorway. "How are you feeling?" "Weird," he admitted, looking around the large kitchen with wide eyes. "Did I dream that we moved to a mansion?"

Tom grumbled, Dime hitting him for his whining. "We are here!" I shouted as I pulled into Drew and me's house, "Wow, we are really out here," Drew joked as we drove down the long driveway, "Oh, shut up," I responded as I parked the truck near the front door. The boys emptied the back of the truck, while Dime and I got ready to show Tom his house, which was right next door. "Ready to go to your house?" I asked Tom as Drew and he finished moving the boxes in,

"We're doing well enough now. There's no need to dwell on the past. Come on, let's eat." I looked at Tommy—this son of mine whom I had raised on watered-down porridge and a mother's indifference. Did he know that when he was barely a year old, his mother had nearly starved him to death in her obsession with making Zack a millionaire?
