The Ike I knew was ever strong and never showed any sign of weakness. He was a teenager who had gone through a storm but managed to survive. I love you. I remembered, clearly, his words that night. My heart throbbing hard, it felt as if it would explode. I had craved to hear those words three years ago, but they never came. He never said them. And finally he said the words. I only sigh disappointed. I wish he could say it too. Instead of "I know" I wish I could hear "I love you too". At least for once. Even if it's a lie. A tiny part of my heart breaks every time I tell him this but he doesn't return the same. I know he warned me. I know he made it pretty clear I should not expect love from him but I wish it was one of those stories in which the girl changes the broken guy. I wish but I know it could never happen. Incredible, legendary stuff. I look out from the window, reminisce about all the good times I have had with Avantika and think about whatever is going to come. I have a smile on my face. Being loved and wanted is the most amazing feeling in the world ... it’s like a whole new experience. No matter how far we try to run away from it, it only gets you closer. I sigh, to regulate my breathing. It was almost 20 years and my memories was so vague that day, all I can remember that it was so dark and we are running for our life.
