What Is Instant Spin In Blade Ball Novels & Stories

I watch, breathless, thinking it will disappear — but instead, the condensed currents split, sliding smoothly along both sides of his throat, brushing the skin with the gentlest, most deliberate, and menacing caress, before they meet again behind his neck. There, in a heartbeat, the wind snaps back into form, reforming into a razor-fine blade. And then — faster than the eye can track — it whips across the room. CLANG. The windblade slices straight through a steel art sculpture standing by the far wall — a polished metal spiral about thirty centimeters wide — and cuts it clean in half. The halves clatter apart with a ringing sound, the edges gleaming sharp and fresh. The blade itself dissipat

Kiran raised his left hand, and a forceful strike hit all three blades precisely. Clang, clang, clang! The crisp sounds rang out again. The blades splintered and transformed into a swarm of smaller blades that shot toward Kiran like a burst of knife light. "Disperse!" Kiran shouted, his hand sweeping upward again. Ha, ha... "You fell for it!" Lord Red Cloud shouted triumphantly, "You mentioned 'Splintering Spinning Blades,' and I pretended to be shocked." Kiran was stunned to see smaller blades released from the center of each of the three spinning blades. Each blade had now produced three more, resulting in nine blades from the original three.

This time, I couldn't stop laughing and told them I would win the game. Steve picked up the ball and got ready to serve. He launched the ball into the air and made a paddle swing. The ball curved in the air as a result of his side-spin shot. I positioned myself correctly, anticipating the spin. With a counterspin, he swung his paddle and struck the ball. As it returned to Steve and Jason's side, the ball struck the net and landed on their end. I added another point to make the score 19–20. I could feel the anger boiling on Steve's face.

With both of my sticks poised to strike, I change course at the last moment, opting to use my momentum to spin and strike from one direction, impacting the guard, but also slipping past it, so as not to break my own momentum. The crack of bamboo hitting bamboo echoes in the arena, and as I turn my body back from the spin, I see my opponent’s arms flailing from the strike. Didn’t think that one was coming, did you? I was still powered by the momentum from my spin, and I flowed with it sticks still extended, but instead of striking at the same time, I swung with one stick first, then the other. “Left side body strike! Point for Southern Cross!” the referee announced.

His dark eyes widened in sudden, desperate shock as he realized he had been totally outmaneuvered by our synchronized speed. Time seemed to slow to an absolute crawl inside the roaring stadium. The bright overhead lights reflected off the spinning black rubber as it slid perfectly onto my waiting blade, giving me the ultimate window of opportunity. Every single hour of grueling practice, every painful check I had absorbed during the match, and the unyielding protective promise Orion had given me in the tunnel all fused into a single moment of pure, blinding instinct.

“Then you should have prepared better.” A sudden movement—a feint, then a spin—and the shadow disappeared momentarily, reappearing behind Blade. I spun, driving forward, forcing him to respond. The air was thick with tension, steel scraping, the distant echo of Isla’s frightened voice urging me on. And then I saw it: the slightest hesitation, the tiniest shift in weight. That was all I needed. I twisted my knife, redirecting his blade, and for a brief heartbeat, he was off balance. I lunged, driving forward with controlled force, striking him in the side. He grunted, spinning away, but didn’t fall.

I ran it straight through without stopping. "Your transition out of the spin is eating half a beat." I came out of the rotation and found my edge. Priya was skating a slow circle nearby, watching me with the assessing expression of someone who noticed things and had no patience for pretending she did not. "I know," I said. "I am working on it." "You are stepping out too early. You are not trusting the rotation to finish itself." She was right. I reset the spin and went through it again and this time I held the position one count longer and the transition came out clean.

I asked. “You just know when you find them, and after you do, you mate with them,” Johnny said casually. “Mate with them? Like, have sex?” Johnny nodded. “What are you? Just give me a clue, please. Should I be scared?” I asked as Johnny took my hand again. “Don’t be scared of anything. No one wants to hurt you. Now I’m going to teach you to spin. Do not press your blade into the ice, just let yourself spin. Okay?”

Brian caught her questioning expression and opened his mouth to answer, but Ever interjected, teasing pointedly, "Males finger and females blow." Hycinth rolled her eyes, as did Gwen. Had Hycinth not handled it so well, I would have been inclined to slap him upside his head for that comment. As it was, I was still contemplating it, but he must have guessed what the remark might cost him because he'd taken a noticeable step out of my reach. Brian explained, "When the ball lands in a cup and spins above the liquid, some gameplay allow for males to use a finger to knock it out, or females to blow it out before it settles. However, to keep the game moving at a favorable pace, we disallow both."

I’m impressed with Tyson for using my fight as a learning opportunity. “Another example of how crucial our senses are to survival. It is imperative that we hone each of them so that should one be rendered useless the others are quickly able to pick up the slack.” He pulls away the sheet to reveal one of those machines that spits out tennis balls. Now, this should be interesting. “Meet the Spinshot Player. It has a capacity of a hundred and twenty balls and feeds the balls from nineteen to sixty-eight miles per hour with a feed frequency of two to ten seconds. Today you will be blindfolded and given nose plugs and have to rely on your hearing to dodge the balls,” he announces with a grin. Eve
