What My Bones Know Book Novels & Stories

I trained my torch to see it was the bone of some animal. “Oh My Goodness!” I shrieked once again, lurching back. My back slammed into the wall and I noticed my back rubbing into something. I grinned and lifted shaky fingers to press down the switch. Despite how my body trembled, I was glad as light flooded the room. I slid my phone into the back pocket of my jeans and swirled, to which I regretted I did. It wasn't just one bone that was present; it was many. And most of it was from small animals. My eyes widened, and my jaw went loose as I noticed another presence in the room.

As though they can get dressed simply by gazing down. Mrs. Jen takes a book from the table and places it in her hand. The book had the appearance of being twenty years old, was wired with tree roots, and was a dark brown colour. "This is the book from which I learned about so many incidents, many of them included poisoning or murdering someone while they were sleeping. I was also taught how to treat some of the more serious injuries, such as having a riped skull or being roasted to death till their skin turned crimson." Jen clarifies.

--- Instinct I don’t remember deciding to raise the bone. One second my hand was at my side, the next it was out in front of me, the shard catching the torchlight. The hum became a scream. Not sound — feeling. The thing stopped like I’d slammed it into a wall. Its eyes flicked from the bone to my face. “You haven’t chosen,” it said. “Guess you’re not my motivation,” I shot back. --- Impact It lunged anyway. I don’t know if it touched the bone or if the bone touched it.

"Say it again. What bone did you say this is?" "It's human bone! I am positive it is human bone!" Felix shouted, struggling against the guards. He warned, "Mr. Lane, it is illegal to own human bones. Most people can't tell the difference, so I know you've definitely been deceived. The one who did this is malicious and despicable!" The banquet hall was filled with murmurs again as Evan stared down at the bracelet. His hand was trembling as he asked Cecilia in a barely audible voice, "Whose bone is this?"

Hearing the commotion coming from the living room, Joseph padded out of the room and asked Victoria about the bone. Victoria looked like she was deep in thought as she glanced at my femur. "I can't remember when I ordered this. I probably bought it to make a bone carving. Or perhaps this is a wedding gift from one of my friends. "Forget it. I'll work on it later. It's been a while since I made a carving. Besides, the texture of this bone is quite good." I laughed helplessly. The first wedding gift that Victoria received was my femur. Of course, human bones were different from animal bones.

' My mate whispered, thoughts running wild like mine. 'The rest of her skeleton is there, but her skull is missing. ' My heart beat skyrocketed and my hands became sweaty. That was not good at all, that skull obviously represented something. For someone to go through such an extend to retrieve bones? it must have been one hell of an important object to them. I remembered coming across a drawing in my mothers journal.

And at the edge of a glade where no path had ever existed, the ground opened. No explosion. No quake. Just silence and then the trees parted to reveal something ancient. A tree made entirely of bones. It towered like a monument to forgotten gods its branches skeletal, its bark a fusion of ribs, spines, and skulls grown into unnatural curves. The marrow glowed faintly with violet light. From its roots oozed a dark ichor that hissed as it touched the earth, burning runes into the moss. “The Bone Tree,” Rowan whispered, eyes wide.

But I kept running until I fully reached the exit. My jaw dropped to the floor as I stepped into what looked like another courtyard. But the horrors lay on the ground, littered with pale, weathered bones. The moonlight had even made them look luminous. I crouched and touched one of the bones, and I was sure it was a human bone. There were skulls cracked open like eggshells. Ribs poking through the dirt like brittle fence posts. My stomach tightened as I felt bile rising to the back of my throat.

It was so clear that it glinted in the moonlight, and I noticed gold engravings everywhere across the bones. “Okay,” Allen said, catching up beside me, his voice a little higher than usual. “That’s... pretty interesting.” “You ever seen anything like it?” I asked. Allen shook his head, eyes wide. “I’ve read about ancient beings, sure, but such engravings on the bones? That’s new to me. Even the oldest books in my library don’t mention anything like this.” I stared at the skeleton, something about it tugged at me. I reached in, gently sliding my hands beneath the rib cage. “Let’s take it out.”
