At first, it's only a faint whisper like a brush against my ear, but then it becomes louder and stronger until it's screaming, calling me home — the call of the gate. A faint orange glow is visible in the distance, and the further I go toward the call, the brighter and redder it becomes until I suddenly break through the darkness and see the flames of hell and the burning red gate covered in black soot.

“What are you seeing? Please, tell me.” She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she stared off into the distance, her brow furrowed as if she were searching for something she couldn’t find. Finally, she turned to face me, her eyes filled with sorrow. “I see darkness, Selene. And it’s coming for you. It’s coming for all of us.” Her words hung in the air, and I felt a chill run down my spine. Darkness. It was the only word I could hear echoing in my mind. What did it mean? What was coming for us?
