It’s like my body is slowly being ripped in half, but in the end, the warmth overcomes the darkness, freeing me entirely so that I’m thrown into a bright vortex, and when it disappears, I find myself staring up into Diego’s dark depths.

The dark took me softly this time, not like the battle collapse — this was just a body that had run out of everything and needed to stop. I let it.
