He was driving, so he kept one hand on the wheel. The wind felt good until it didn’t. Looking around, there was just a general darkness that coated the air. I wasn’t afraid, but I didn’t particularly like it. Actually, it started pissing me off. There were the same dark figures standing on the far tree line again. I was getting tired of this. As we pulled up to the pack house, Jet walked me to the office as Wade and Justina made their way to their bedroom. I went to say something to Jet but Jameson walked in.

Thick black smoke billowed into the rain-soaked night. Debris shot outward like deadly arrows. "Ivy!" Jason's mind went blank. All he could think was that Ivy was still inside!

Third Person POV Hearing the neighbor's words, Simon froze. Moved out? But… Janice had never told him about her moving. Panic began to rise in his chest. Amara froze, not understanding what she was getting at. Patty looked around at the wreckage all across the room, her expression stormy. "I'm Ryan's friend. I know how many times you've come here to drink, how many men you've brought here, and how many times Ryan waited for you outside.

He heard a hint of something on the wind that chilled him. Was the man coming after him? Terror struck the boy like he had never felt before.

Zelda’s POV As the stimulating breeze of the pack hit my face, I looked up at the open roof of James' car, with his other warriors trailing behind us on the highway, each in their own cars. "How are they guiding you if they're driving separately?" I asked James, who had turned on some pop music in his car.

JAMES POV I slipped out of our bed this morning and took a long run, trying to clear my head. I was worried about my mate. She was so strong but even strong people have their breaking point. She still had her barriers up with me and I was worried I would never be allowed in. I kept reminding myself that she’s come leaps and bounds with me in the two weeks she’s been here. Scout and I ran long and hard, joining the Patrol as they kept our borders safe.
