“Hello?” I instantly felt relieved and teared up some more. My grief and fear formed a lump in my throat, and I tried my best to speak softly with my hoarse voice. “Mom… I didn’t get back in the car. You left me at the rest stop.” I had just said that when my mother refuted, sounding firm and impatient. “Impossible! Before we left, I asked if everyone was in the car. Mandy and Matthew both said yes. How could you have been left behind?”

We are home. THE END

Leaving seemed impossible. Was this the end for us?

my voice barely a whisper as I reached for the seatbelt. With a swift turn of the key, Greypi ignited the engine, skillfully maneuvering the steering wheel. As we began our departure from the bustling city, I stole one last glance in the direction of the alluring fragrance that had captivated my senses. ‘What could that have been?’ I pondered, my curiosity lingering in the air. After a while, we departed from the City, leaving behind the fading fragrance that had accompanied us. Upon our return to the Cabin, Greypi and I found ourselves in a state of silence.

We have not lived near each other for years. “I don’t know. I have never been. We have to stay at Crystal Lake Pack for a short while, though. We have things to organize.” Eventually, we say goodbye to Alpha Stan and Luna Susan before we head back to Crystal Lake Pack. The journey takes forever, and I want to see my babies. When we eventually got there, they were sleeping, so we decided not to wake them.

And zoom off, we were gone for good to the hotel. The war begins here!!

She said sighing and left. “Let’s go.” I said to Adrian. And we left the hospital as well. Cheers to new beginning.

Neither did I. We stood there together, side by side, looking at the space we were about to leave behind. “You did good,” he said quietly. I glanced at him. “So did you.” A small pause. Then— “We’re not done,” he said. It wasn’t a warning. Just a fact. “I know.” I looked back at the tree one last time. At the place where we had finally stopped long enough to account for the dead. Then I turned away.

" I looked down at his stubborn yet fragile grip on my hand. In the end, I sighed and pushed him away. "We're over, Eugene."
