Amidst the radiance of the laughter ringing out from behind the shadows, the gentleness of her voice when she was not taut. The hollow in her eyes. He got a glass of water and glared at the wall between them. And didn't move. There was a noise. Whispery. Muffled. A scream. He pressed his ear against the wall. A scream—a long gasp for breath. But unmistakably Sienna's. His heart skipped a beat. Not going to be swayed, he pulled on his hoodie, hauling it down over his head, and moved stealthily out into the corridor.

His breath was warm against my ear as he whispered, his tone urgent and firm. “A human can’t be seen here. If they catch you, they won’t just kill you—they’ll devour you, body and soul. They can strip you of your will, make you theirs. So if you don’t want us both to end up in trouble, shut your mouth and stay still.” he firmly said. I had no idea where he was taking me. His grip was firm yet effortless as if I weighed nothing in his arms. The world blurred around me, shadows flickering past until, finally, he set me down. My feet touched the floor, and I took a hesitant step back, my gaze slowly sweeping across the room.

The sky above her was black and endless. The ground beneath her was smooth as glass. And in front of her A shape stood waiting. Lyla’s breath slowed. The whisper was no longer just a voice. It had taken form. Tall. Cloaked in shifting shadows. Neither man nor wolf. Something in between. Something older. The figure lifted its head, and though she couldn’t see its eyes, she felt its gaze. "You came." Lyla lifted her chin. "You gave me no choice." The whisper laughed. Low. Amused.

I snapped my head at my window, there and then I saw a giant owl that was making heavy fluttering sounds from it's feathers. Yesterday evening, I had taken my binds off, while studying and had forgotten to put them back. This owl which was a big as my house, was whistling instead of hooting, something which was totally a different sound vocalization. It's eyes were growing bigger and bigger, as it continued whistling. And this started making me go deaf gradually, with my eyes creasing right into their sockets, spinning my world and making everything go blurry. I was suddenly rendered weak, and felt a huge itchy lump stuck in my throat.

“I’m right here.” The wolf turns his head slowly, like he’s hearing me through water. His eyes lock onto me. And my palm burns harder in the real world. I feel it even here. He takes one step toward me. Then he jerks back like something yanked him. That’s when I hear it. A whisper. Not a real voice. More like a hiss sliding through the trees. Mine. The word curls around him like smoke. “Leave him alone!” I shout. My voice cracks and echoes weirdly.

Faster. I closed my eyes, reaching inward. The bond pulsed violently. Rowan was near so close. I could feel his determination, his frustration, his restrained longing. And then, something new, a sharp edge I hadn’t felt before: fear. Fear? Lyra’s voice trembled. It’s not yours. It’s his. I understood immediately. He had arrived, unannounced. Moving through my pack’s territory. Risking everything for me. The door behind me opened slowly. I didn’t need to turn. I knew.

Victor whispered into her ear, his gravelly voice sending a wild shiver straight down her spine. In one swift, powerful movement, Victor stepped off the ledge and plunged directly into the deep end of the pool. A loud splash echoed through the room as the heated blue water swallowed them whole. The shock of the water hit Serena instantly. Panic, cold and blinding, exploded in her chest. She couldn't swim. The moment her head went under, she lost all sense of direction. The water felt heavy, pulling her down into the deep, dark abyss. She opened her eyes underwater, seeing nothing but glowing blue bubbles and Victor's massive, dark shadow holding her.

Idris recited providing a background of what should I know about a werewolf whisperer. “B-but how?” “Essentially speaking, it’s a dog whistle. Dog whistles don’t create sound when you blow them, only dogs could hear the sound.” I shifted my focus on Ysabella and Benjie who were both still under whatever spell Yannick’s beta has put them under. It’s totally peculiar how they’re the only ones who’s affected by this when we should all be hearing whatever sound Lanna was producing. Isn’t that how whistles work? “But why are we not affected by it?” I inquired purely wondering why. Idris and I are both werewolves too and the fact that we couldn’t hear what Ysabella and Benjie are hearing right now

Zen’s POV “You’re fucking kidding with this right? A real to god WEREWOLF,” I yelled out to Whisper as she ignored me pacing in front of me, speaking to no one with her hands flying up in the air. I watched her stop and look at the swirling air in front of her and a hand appeared grabbing her and she was gone. I moved towards it, but it vanished and a low baritone voice spoke from behind me, “who are you?”

"Please, someone, help me. I can't see. It's so dark." Amon's shadows pushed into the room first, illuminating it. The Whisper materialized in the center; it was a vaguely humanoid shape made of compressed sound waves. When it saw us, the woman's voice distorted into something cracky. "Help. Me. Please." Then it lunged. Amon caught it with his shadows, but the creature was slippery and hard to hold. I moved in from the side, and my knife found its core. It was a frequency generator. The blade struck true. The Whisper's form destabilized, sound waves scattering in all directions before it dissolved completely.
