before I could ask where they were, my phone rang. When I check the screen, it was Nathan. I sight before answering. I was expecting curse and threats. “Marcus, they killed her, I know it’s them. they told me they would. I didn’t do anything; I stopped my plan when you asked me to why did they have to kill her?” it was my first time hearing a man sob so painfully.

His half-cocked smile as I peered at the phone told me he’d known I’d give him shit for it. “Fred Bagnoli has a phone like this. He’s old as dirt.” “He’s a smart man. These are impossible to trace. You’re welcome, by the way.” “Uh, thanks?” I pulled up the contacts on a whim. Of course, the only three numbers listed were his, Mikey’s, and Tommaso’s, and there was no option to program anything else that I could see. I sighed heavily and set the phone down on the dresser. It was better than nothing, wasn’t it? “This is actually very nice of you, Killian. I didn’t think you had it in you.”

"How is it possible? He was the king of mercenaries in Southeast Asia, and weren't you talking to him on the phone just now?" the middle-aged woman asked.

"Someone killed him. Just like what happened to Mom. And I don't know where else to go, Elaine. Please..." Our conversation was cut off when someone's phone suddenly died. I quickly looked at the screen to check if it was mine but it was Dylan's. Worry and fear flushed all over me so I reached out to him.

“ Kill him ” the receiver said coldly “ who ? ” the caller asked “ Detective Kennedy ” the receiver said over the phone “ Kill him ? A young nurse approached me. I nodded and took out my phone from my pocket. I hadn't heard it ring before because I was lost in thoughts. It was Pete calling. I picked it up but didn't say a word. "Sir, I found one more person in the environment." He informed me as soon as I picked up the call and the first thought that hit my mind was the sniper. "A sniper?" I asked him. "Yes sir." "Is he alive?" I wanted to punish him. "No sir, I killed him while we fought." I sighed at his reply. I would have loved to kill the bastard myself."And I also found something surprising about him and the others."he added.

There was a brief pause and then, "Goodnight, princess." ‎"Goodnight, Julian." Hanging up the phone, I placed it on my lips, and let everything sink in. Alone with my thoughts, I couldn't believe I actually just had full-blown phone sex with a client. It was so unlike me. It was more like something Zach would do. Speaking of... ‎"Zach, you won't believe what just happened!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. ‎

Instead, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and placed it on the ground. “We’re assassins hired to kill Sotiria Green. My phone contains detailed messages from our employer and records of funds transferred from our employer. Have a look.” Once he had finished his piece, he placed his gun into his mouth and pulled the trigger. Bang! The fiery hot bullet pierced through his skull. The man collapsed instantly into a pool of blood, dead.
