Why Are You Doing This Duke Novels & Stories

“And what game is that?” Davos smiled. “The game of survival.” Another explosion rocked the ground above them. Adrian turned to Ayesha, urgency in his voice. “We need to get out of here.” Davos exhaled, almost disappointed. “You still don’t understand, do you?” He gestured to the ceiling. “This isn’t just about escaping. This is about what happens after.” Ayesha’s grip on her gun tightened. “What did you do?” Davos smirked. “I made you the villain.”

he added with a smirk. To all my teammates at basketball, he is the one who is most likely to be known as a 'playboy.' He really likes to be on the team because of the girls, and it was his goal to impress them. I don’t even know if people knew about that behavior of his, though. Aside from not being in a mood to play today, I have somewhere else to go that I promised myself to go to. “I’m sorry, but I have important things to do at home right now.” I respectfully declined and that made his reaction a bit dismayed.

"After all, magical contracts are unbreakable, and breaching the contract can result in death." "But does the duke not know that I am engaged and that's also to the duke's younger brother?" "Since the young duchess brought it up just now, it can't be that big of a deal," he smirked. "However, I see that the Duke lacks morals," she said. "But I will pretend not to care since I can annul the engagement any time and I want to as well. But I still don't agree with one point." "What is it?"

He was telling the truth I was tied up in all of this because of my face and to think that I never considered myself beautiful, I had always thought I was so plain and quite ordinary but apparently vampires and witches and berserkers thought not. "So what do you intend to do with me?" I asked him, dreading his answer “That will depend solely on what you can do for us. If it were left to me, I would free you this instant but sadly it is not so I just suggest you talk so you can get out of this alive. The duke is not somebody you owe your loyalty; he will let you die just as he did with Katherine." “You are one to speak on loyalty seeing that you are not even loyal yourself; Just a dog to som

I tired to reason with a playful smirk. "Abeg stop, Rica, I know what you're trying to do and it's sadly not working" Dili said with a serious look plastered on his face. "Whatever do you mean?" still with a playful smile I asked, though nervousness was slowly creeping in. "Seriously Rica I mean it stop!" I was taken aback by his tone. "What?" "Why?" was the only thing he said. Confused I asked "Why what?" "Why do you always do this to yourself?" the tone in which he spoke almost seemed like he was heartbroken about something.

My family was the most famous line of witches at the royal court. My sister, Lilith Seyler, was famous for her lofty principles. I was the only one who knew she was a complete fraud. When the royal marriage decree arrived at House Seyler, she shut herself in her prayer room out in the woods and refused to come out. "Duke Edmund, your wealth and your power are dust to me. A proposal from a duke is no different than a proposal from a farmhand." Then she laid out three conditions for Duke Edmund. The Duke was to build a prayer room on his estate, since she needed quiet meditation and practice with the elements to keep her magic stable. Before the wedding, the Duke was to wash in mountain spring

“This is discrimination! You know what? Just take a break from the hunt, Mr. Grumpy. I know you. You get pissed easily when you skip your daily dose of blood and sex. So, do me a favor. Just go out there and resume your night activities. I will have you excused until tomorrow.” “Wow, that’s so nice of you. Thank you very much,” Duke answered sarcastically. “You’re welcome. So, are we okay now, Uncle?” Duke cussed and Clyde just laughed. I shook my head, grinning this time. When we stepped out of the headquarters, Duke stopped me from getting to my car. “You still have time. You can still untangle yourself from this twisted fate, Alex,” he said. “The city girl-“ “She has a name, Uncle.”

Duke will not cheat on me and I am sure about that because he loves me and he is not like Grey though they were close friends but he is far from Grey. I checked the orders again trying to remove what Angel told me in my head because I don’t want to overthink but I can’t deny the fact that I am affected because of the signs that Duke is showing me even though I am trying to convince myself that “the signs are just the signs” and it is not proven yet for me to stop worrying. I try to read my book again to divert my attention but I can’t concentrate. I keep on looking at my phone hoping that Duke would call me. Because I am worried about him and just one call from him can take my worry away but

I asked. He stared longer before his eyes blinked. "Wow, I didn't expect that you would have to show me such outstanding performance." I shook my head before drinking the remaining juice on the glass. "It was just a simple introduction of myself Duke, I sought the revenge with bloodshed using my heels, that's why I'm still standing here looking unharmed." "Are you inviting me to join your war your Highness?" he asked. I chuckled and wiped my lips using the clean towel. "If you can satisfy me as my soldier than I'll let you join, I'm a picky person by the way. I've given up the word trust in exchange of humanity," I said before leaving him with his startled face.
