Perched on the rock, it balanced against a short furry tail as it stood in its hind legs and munched on a tiny pinecone. "What is it?" Poppy whispered. "It's a northern Idaho ground squirrel. They run all over this mountain. Believe it or not, they're endangered." Hunter smiled affectionately at the diminutive rodent.

It looked around, saw nothing suspicious, then picked up the apple and started eating it. Until he finished eating, there was still no abnormality, and I wanted to ask Vince if he was worried too much when suddenly the squirrel let out a cry and struggled on the ground for a few seconds stiff. The squirrel actually smiled broadly. "My name is Roka!" "I'm Moka!" "And I'm Koka!"

He struggled some more, but it made things much worse. I felt bad, but I was reluctant to touch the web. What if I triggered something and the creature showed up? ~Please, don't leave me here,~ the squirrel cried for help again. Dammit, I couldn't just ignore it. I sighed and approached the web. ~Don't worry, buddy, I'll help you,~ I told him. I flipped my claws out then sliced through the web. It didn't take long before I was able to free the squirrel.

He said and Yihai wondered if he was actually swearing. "So... you come all the way here everyday to build a squirrel hideout which they will probably never use." The other male blew hair out his eyes in frustration before staring up at Yihai. "Why won't they use it?" "You know there's a reason why squirrels hide their food inside a tree, high enough." "Why?"
