One year later, the FS Phoenix building stood as the sharpest needle in the city’s skyline, a monument of glass and steel that seemed to pierce the clouds. To the world, it was a beacon of hope—the headquarters of the most successful humanitarian foundation in history. To those inside, it was a fortress of absolute silence.

There was nothing but the hum of crickets and the faint rustle of the wind. She exhaled deeply, closed the window, and dusted off her worn-out mattress. (Five years later) Lyra’s POV I leaned against the dark tinted window of my limousine as it drove past the City. My reflection stared back at me, my face covered with a Phoenix shaped mask that only allowed my eyes and mouth to be seen, it was my Trademark. The world now knew me as The Phoenix, the name wasn't just branding. It was my story. I had risen from destruction, rebuilt by hands that should never have held me together, and now the very fire that consumed me was now my fuel and weapon.

"Seraphina Agni, save our clan and come back safe. We need you, before our clan disappears, please— save the phoenix from crying..."

“I’d like that. I’m tired of standing on the chair. I hope it’s safe to climb down now.” They arranged the chairs in the dark so they could derive maximum warmth from each other. The wind outside was running under the eaves and making a shrill whistling sound. In the daytime, the girls had seen small whirlwinds get caught in the wispy Palo Verde trees and rip them apart from the inside. The same twisters were no match for steel buildings, but they could make threatening, scary noises, nonetheless.

So the one who was driving quickly parked the car and changed the seat with Tim. As soon as Tim held the steering wheel, he became really excited. He had been ordered to monitor Justin for so long, so he had lost his patience long before. He couldn't miss such a good opportunity, could he? So he accelerated the car to the fastest, chasing Justin's car. Phoenix City was located in a wide area where there was an endless plain outside the downtown. The two cars were running really fast, leaving various difficult trajectories behind. It was a pity that there was no audience. Otherwise, they would definitely applaud when seeing it.

From sunrise to sunset, the weather did not show any mercy. The whole of Townsville was experiencing a horrid, torrential downpour. It did not matter for the Phoenix Mafia. If anything, they felt the rain throughout the day was symbolic, in that a bad thing was going to happen. Victoria, Keith and Charles met up with Bowen back at the abandoned construction site. Charles shared his plan with Bowen and gave his team specific instructions on what Bowen and his team had to do. Soon after, the rest of the Phoenix Mafia arrived in Nathan’s truck and Jim’s Mustang.

Zion remembered that night vividly. Now that Phoenix was gone, he sort of believed what she has told them about that night. “Saving Phoenix? What happened?” Silver was more intrigued than ever now. The frown on her forehead was also too visible at this point. “Phoenix had a habit of wandering in the hallways at night times. Then one of the nights she was seen headed to the window. She wasn’t even listening to the calls of our mother, who had to rush towards her and pull her back. But in the same process, she tripped and fell down,” Zion remembered those parts because those were told throughout the years.
