*Jaedon’s POV* “You’re saying war?” My best friend and Beta, Peter Normandy raised his eyebrows at me. Peter and I had met when we were children. Our pack, Snow Creek, had taken over his own pack Everforest. Now, the remaining joined us and pledged their loyalty. It hasn’t been a terrible thing for them though. We didn’t have to kill anyone. Their Alpha had been sick and the sickness was spreading. He asked us to take over the healthy of their pack so it wouldn’t have to die off. Our Alpha at the time obliged.

“Leave her.” Ryker hesitated, then nodded. “She’s already met her storm.” Outside, the wind howled once more—but this time, it wasn’t angry. It was soft. Gentle. As Blaise carried his mate and son into the daylight, the storm began to clear, sunlight piercing through the clouds. The Windsong faded, its final note lingering in the air like a promise. My gaze drifted, stiff and robotic, back to the photo of the hands clasped inside the car. I hadn't noticed it before, but now I saw it clearly. The slender wrist on that hand wore a sports watch. It wasn't expensive, but it looked so familiar. It was the birthday gift I'd chosen for Archie last month. I glanced back at the unfamiliar account's ID named "Arienna". The term was a combination of Archie and Sienna. So this was it. The guy I had always treated like a brother had stolen the woman I loved with all my heart.

With Miguel's return to the room, the two could come across two guys standing at his door, one with brown hair in a well-aligned haircut, a shaved beard and standing with his hands in his pockets while the other was talking super excitedly, gesturing a lot. This one had dark blond hair combed back. As Miguel approached the duo, he put his hand on Catherine's shoulder, making her look at him a little scared at first. His hand was warm, and he had to take a step to his side, which made her smell his wonderful scent. It was Miguel's perfume, with a woody odor that matched perfectly with his lumberjack style. The trance in her mind was broken when she heard him introduce her.

He had shattered the clones and forced the controller of the clones to retreat. He also took advantage of the other party's escape to enter the temple, but he did not find any trace of this person. Judging from the marks on the other party's face, it was obviously caused by the power of his War Mark of Wind. The War Mark of Wind contained a sharp aura, so it was naturally difficult to remove it. This was similar to what he had expected. The other party was obviously not one person, but had a group.

Once I settle into my office only Leno and Bryant stayed, Geo had to go to the hospital for patients. “What were you able to find out while we were at Dark Claw?” I asked Leno. “Not much in their library. They have a public records section, specifically about the federation alliances and anything the pack has documented, however documents for that year are not available or better yet nowhere to be found.” Leno updated me. “Wait what?,” I asked him, shocked at what he reported.
