Cyrus, the largest grey wolf, stepped towards us and bent his head, revering our newest member. Esmerelda followed my gaze and was startled. She tried to get up but kept falling down, unable to coordinate her four legs. Her whines and whimpers tugged at my heart. Cyrus took another step, and Magnus howled long and soulfully, freaking her out. Terror consumed her as she adjusted and flew on top of a granite boulder. She looked at me in utter betrayal before leaping off the rock and sprinting effortlessly over the line of wolves. Her white fur streaked against the dark green mountainside as we all paused in awe.

The winged thing shrieked, its wings jerking wildly, and the white wolf twisted in the air, twisted, like it was not bound by weight. It landed with the winged creature pinned beneath it. One brutal snap. The winged wolf’s neck broke. The white wolf didn’t even pause to savour it. It flung the corpse aside like trash and turned its head, purple eyes locking onto the next threat.

He picked them up and ran to hide behind a car. Irvin just chuckled, still startled by the fact that Zadkiel managed to still have control over his wolf even during the first transformation but the most shocking thing for him was that Zadkiel's wolf was a Pterolycus. A winged wolf. Zadkiel appeared from behind the car, fully clothed and with a smile on his face. He approached Irvin and jumped on him to catch him in a strong hug. The latter caught him chuckling and kissed his neck repeatedly.

But the biggest difference in their appearance was that Neffie did not have the large pair of bat wings that this wolf figure had. It was a amazingly beautiful pair of wings that were black on the inside and red on the outside like wolf's fur. The bones and veins appeared on the wings were also covered with red fur. The top bend of the wing was crowned with a curved claw as dangerously sharp as the claws of its paws, but Neffie thought that it only enhanced its beauty.
