The silver drones didn't howl like wolves. They screamed like jet engines. I stood on the edge of the laboratory’s broken window, the wind of the dying city whipping my hair across my face. Below us was a drop of fifty stories. In front of us were a dozen mechanical hunters. Behind us was a lab full of terrified scientists. "The White Fire," Silas shouted over the roar of the drones. He stood close to me, his hand gripping my shoulder. "Can you use it to fly?"

Atlas retorted through gritted teeth. However, the firefighters would not let him go closer, and his heart-wrenching screams echoed throughout the villa. "Get out of the way! Let go of me! Naomi! Naomi!" Suddenly, a massive explosion came from the villa. The beams holding it up snapped and collapsed. In that instant, Atlas disregarded everything and pushed the firefighters aside with all his might. "Mr. Payne!" Someone yelled as burning-hot air rushed toward Atlas. Childhood memories flooded Atlas with terror, making it impossible for him to move. However, the thought of Naomi suffering terribly in the fire made it impossible for him to stay put. The wind howled through the Moon Crest Pack's territory as the blood-red sky churned overhead. The air was heavy with the scent of danger. Alpha Jason stood in front of his home, his wolf instincts on full alert, while Natalie clung to Charles, her heart pounding. Above them, a dark mist swirled, forming into the shape of a tall, imposing man with glowing crimson eyes-Charlie Johnson, King of the Vampires. His presence was suffocating, his voice deep and commanding as it thundered across the land.

The flameborn steel recognized me. Then the shadows came. Three cloaked figures emerged from the treeline. Not wolves. Not human. Witches—or what was left of them. Corrupted by centuries of hiding and hatred. Their eyes glowed blue-white, their hands blackened with magic. “You are not yet proven,” one hissed. I lifted the blade. “I don’t need your approval.” They lunged. The first came fast—blinking through space like a specter. I slashed upward, the blade singing through the air. Her scream was both physical and magical, breaking windows in the nearby wing.

The shadows recoil like snakes from fire, and Kael’s head snaps up, silver fire flaring into fury. “Lucious,” he growls, the name a blade dripping venom. Gods. He’s here. The light floods in like a tidal wave, crashing against the black until the hall blazes in gold fire. And through it— Lucious strides. Not the calm, cold general. Not the golden knight. This is something else—something terrible. Wings blaze behind him like twin suns, molten light dripping from his armor in streams that hiss where they touch the bone floor. His eyes burn so bright they don’t even look human.

His large grey wolf growled and snarled at Damascus. Damascus threw a quick glance at Amara who was still unconscious on the side of the road. Damascus looked back and took in a deep breath, his body readied itself and unleashed an inferno on the grey wolf as it tried to charge towards Damascus. The animal whelped in pain as its fur caught fire like kindling. Damascus didn't wait for others to join their pack members and instead, Damascus grabbed Amara with his Dragon claws and took to the skies in a matter of seconds. He would fly the rest of the way to the airfield. They had no other choice.

She flinched when she saw the shadow in the fire. "Kabir!" She mumbled. "Kabir!" She screamed and tried to run towards it but Damon quickly grabbed her and pulled back. "Mira!" He growled at her angrily as he held back tightly. "Come to your fucking senses, it's just a wild fire!" She flinched at his voice as it broke her trance. "I saw his shadow!... I swear." Her hands trembled as she pointed towards it. Damon looked back and it was just an illusion which flames created.

Lucifer fired back angrily. *I'm sorry, boss. Let's get going for the blood hunt,* Annihilator hissed excitedly. Lucifer shifted into his wolf form, a massive black beast with glowing red eyes. He leapt from the window, landing silently on the ground below. He moved with lethal grace towards the dungeon, his mind focused on his next victim. Luciano, standing guard outside the dungeon, saw the wolf approaching. He quickly ordered the guards to leave, recognizing Lucifer in his wolf form.

It was something else, but he didn’t care whatever it was couldn’t stop him. “I don’t know, just kill it so we can get into the warehouse.” The Dark One said to his men. The vampires blurred and started to attack the beast’s body staying away from his head. The beast roared when the vampires started clawing at his body. He started shaking his big body and throwing himself against trees trying to get the vampires off of him. Out of nowhere a Dragon swooped down, using it’s claws ripping his vampires off of the big beast and setting them on fire dropping them to the ground. The Dark One sighed deeply not wanting to waste time. With a flick of his wrist, he threw the dragon into the big beas
