Winter is staring at herself in the mirror, that same shy smile spreading across her face. Even the sales woman is smiling at her. The seamstresses doing a once over are professional, but they can't fight their growing smiles either.

The snow is completely melted; the valley is nothing, but blackened rock and charred shrubs and clouds of smoke and vapor nearly block out the sky. "You guys want your clothes now?" I hear Fara yell. "Yeah just give us a second!" Jax replies. "Why is it the witches have clothes that don't burn but we don't?" I growl as I follow him up the hillside. "Our armor doesn't burn, does that count?" I roll my eyes. "Only if you're wearing armor all the time." The wind is greater towards the top of the valley and I let out a sharp hiss as it whips across my bare skin. "I hate winter," I growl under my breath.

Winter looks down at me, smiling as he releases my hand. “Where are we going?” I ask, the warm breeze kissing my skin as we walk past all the bright wildflowers. The sun's beams brighten the surroundings, creating a whimsical atmosphere reminiscent of a fairy-tale. Winter gives me a playful wink, his ocean blue eyes framed by thick black lashes. I don't understand how it's fair that their things are longer than mine. “You’ll find out,” he teases as I smile back, laughing nervously. His eyes heat for a moment, flashing orange of his wolf as he stares at my bare legs.

The animals hide in the nest; they hibernate for the winter. Lucia shoved her hands into her coat pockets. The coat, beanie, gloves, scarf, and boots covered her body. Lucia felt an overwhelming chill. Lucia didn't expect it to snow this morning; fortunately, she had brought winter clothes in anticipation. Usually, during winter, Lucia would prefer to spend time in front of the fire. This season makes vampires suffer because their bodies can't withstand the cold.
