But then his thick arm reached from behind me, pressing his solid heat harder against my back, pinning me against the countertop as his gorgeous, strong man-hand closed on the book I was reaching for, and he held it so I couldn’t get it without taking it from him.
I stared at that hand for a minute, his long fingers, and the tendons on the back of it, the way the muscle of his forearm ridged and his knuckles whitened because he was gripping it so hard. The urge was there to stroke my hand down that arm and slide my fingers between his. I wanted to soothe his tension.
