Peyton was much older than Luke at thirty-six years old. “Humans are having children in their forties nowadays, and werewolves are much better equipped to carry children, so there’s nothing to worry about.” My mom smiled at the couple. “It will be so nice to have a baby in the family again.” Luke’s mother, Robin, smiled, hugging Beta Alfred. “And who knows, maybe soon our Luke and Blake will bless us with some more grandpups.” She looked at my mom, joy on her face at the thought.

She was here to support her friends but not necessarily share in their journey of self-discovery. Something moving in the corner of her eye caught Chloe’s attention. At first it just seemed like a dead leaf tumbling across the snowy ground but within a few moments, the flowing form of a wolf appeared, dashing in and out of the shadows. Then there was another one, then another and another until it felt like they were surrounded by them from all sides. They moved like wraiths between the puddles of inky black shadows and rivers of silvery moonlight. Don’t be afraid. Came a familiar voice, startling Chloe. We are here to keep you and your friends safe.

The next few days passed us by quickly, running together and blurring into one. Rosa and the other warrior wolves arrived, and we spent her first evening sat together in her family’s guest cabin, catching up and gossiping about Joshua, Jacob, and Samyak. The sunlight had slanted in through the window, warming the sides of our faces as we’d grinned. I’d caught sight of Ryna stalking past outside, and had watched her disappear into the woods with a grim feeling settling in my chest.

Ryan smashed his way through the Rogues, His presence seemed to attract their attention as most of the rogues gave up climbing, and charged straight to attack him. Ryan growled loudly and attacked head-on, bursting to the side of the wolf, throwing it out of his way, his huge jaws clamping down on the wolf nearby and crushing it in an instant. Another Rogue tried to jump on his back, he turned midway and caught one of its legs a shook his head vigorously, the body of the rogues bounced around like a rag doll before Ryan threw him away. His paws scratched and tore through the flesh of the approaching wolves, one by one. Within minutes, seven of the rogue wolves were dead. Ryan looked around t

Familiar. It welcomed me like a long-forgotten memory. Ryker dismounted as we reached the center of the basin, and I followed. Wolves emerged from the shadows, silent and watchful. Their eyes glowed faintly. Their magic coiled tight around them like armor. Not Council wolves. Not loyalists. Ryker took a step forward. “I want to see my son,” he said, voice low but commanding. A woman stepped from the circle of wolves — tall, robed in green and black, with gold eyes that shimmered like flame.

Talking about his wolf, she felt her wolf respond a little. She fenced in her wolf for many years. Why would her wolf react to Raymond? Was it because she unknowingly accepted him? Jennifer pondered Robin’s words, urging her to assist Raymond with the heat. For the very first time, she desired her wolf to emerge, though she resisted the transformation, fully aware that if Raymond caught sight of her wolf form, it would spell her demise. Nevertheless, Raymond’s life held paramount significance for her at that moment, leaving her unwilling to jeopardize it.

Ryan ran towards Ellon and took him with him while Chandra attacked the rogues who were a little far from her with the knives. "Ryan, run towards the pack house and take as many people as you can take with you. I will give you cover" she didn't wait for his reply and shifted in her jet-black wolf. Her wolf is an exact copy of the king, but there is a little height difference, and her wolf has brown eyes. Ryan took Ellon's hand. "Ryan, mom and dad are in danger", Ellon said while tears slipped from his eyes.

Ryn roared. Figures burst from the trees, they were ragged, snarling rogues, their eyes burning with malice. At least a dozen or maybe more. Jarek leapt from his horse with a roar, knives flashing. Ryn was a wall of steel, his arrow pinning down the first wolf that lunged. Lucas shoved my horse back, placing himself between me and the attackers. But more poured in, surrounding us. I didn’t think. My hands lifted, power already crackling beneath my skin. The wind answered first, rushing through the trees in a violent surge that knocked two rogues off their feet. They scrambled up again, snarling but I was already calling lightning.
