Ten years had passed since the day the fire fell like the wrath of gods on the quiet village of Wolfsong, but the memories still seared through Nia’s mind as though they had been born just yesterday. She had been a child, barely ten, clinging to the smell of pine and the sound of her parents' voices, safe in the isolation of the borderlands. DEXTER I watched my brother’s Alpha wolf, Inferno, step into the hallway through the eyes of my wolf, Draco. Inferno was a black Alpha wolf, around the same size as my wolf, with blood-red eyes. He was my twin brother’s crazed Alpha king wolf - the infamous red wolf. Inferno slowly walked towards us with his fangs bared. It wasn’t the first time I was meeting my brother’s Alpha wolf; however, it would be the first time we fought on opposing sides.

But I didn’t pull my hand back, holding out hope she’d take it. Minutes passed. Slowly, reluctantly, she sat, her tension only easing slightly as Wolves Warriors approached. They looked ready to intervene, their concern evident. Through the mindlink, they asked what was going on. ‘Nothing serious’, I assured them, instructing them to stand down and keep a watchful eye from a distance. “I know this doesn’t make sense,” I began, voice steady. “Why Christopher Gale would kill his own brother—it’s unthinkable. After several hours, Ted finally got the call he was waiting for. Jazz Walker was a member of the Brotherhood who had left on good terms with the organization. Like, Ted, killing wolves had become too tiresome for her and so she had renounced half her vows. To protect humans but this time she would leave wolves unharmed as opposed to killing them. After all the population of wolves was increasing and many of them had long built empires controlling fortunes and countries.
