Wonder 2 The Book Novels & Stories

It was a story that seemed to resonate deep within my soul, like a memory from a past life. As I stood there, entranced by the symbols, I felt a sense of wonder and awe. What other secrets lay hidden in the Book of Secrets? And what other mysteries would I uncover as I delved deeper into its pages? Arachne's voice was low and mysterious. "The Book of Secrets is a doorway to other worlds," she said. "Are you prepared to step through the doorway, Lila?" I felt a surge of excitement and trepidation. What lay beyond the doorway? And was I really prepared to face what was on the other side?

But instead of old stories from my grandmother’s life, the pages were scrawled with strange symbols and sketches—shorthand in her handwriting explaining the purpose of different runes and sigils. Flipping through the pages, there were sketches of wolves, and the last page that she’d written in had a detailed rendition of a nightmarish wolf-beast that made my blood run cold at the sight of it, it’s eyes smudged over with charcoal in the shape of a protective rune. My heart raced when I realized what I was holding. This was no ordinary journal, it was a spell book.

“How can you possibly find peace at a time like this?” Avery placed a hand on her belly. “What choice do I have? I must conserve my strength for the pup. I will stay as comfortable as I can until the hour of birth.” Sadie scoffed and returned to her seat. An hour later, the craft touched the ground. Avery scanned the horizon. A vast, scorched desert stretched out—the Red Wastes. Dilapidated stone huts dotted the sand, but there was no life. This was a cursed land. Avery had maintained her front, but fear began to seep in. She was far from the Silver Ridge, far from the moon’s protection.

“I might enjoy that book and given what you like, you might too.” I said, smirking at him. “Love the Unexpected?” I asked, looking at him. “It’s about two people that were dealt a bad hand, but learned to love each other despite all that was against them. You were right when you told me I wouldn’t have picked you if it wasn’t for the mate bond. You have a mouth on you and you are a fighter. The Moon Goddess knew what she was doing when she gave me you. You were everything I didn’t know I needed. You have made me a better man. I’m proud to stand beside you. I’m so lucky to have you.”

Lexi was too engaged with Jinx to notice Wound had dumped the giant tome on the table right through him. "Yeah, that was the idea," Jinx admitted. He half stood up to try and see the book's pages. "But how about you tell me what's going on in that warped mind of yours?" "This is the Book of Changes, only one in this dimension." Wound began showing Jinx the pages of the book that kept shifting with different words. "You aren't showing him that!" Lexi knew exactly what book he was standing in the middle of now that it was brought to his attention. "Topsiders are never supposed to see it. Jinx doesn't need any more bad luck!" He tried to cover it with spirit hands.

He nodded slowly and before he could say anything more, the bedroom door swung open. Erick and Jess stood at the doorway; they were both breathless, so we knew they were running. Jess held one of the thickest books I had ever seen; it was a large brown book with golden decals swirled throughout the cover. In the front of the book, in a silvery oval was a white infinity symbol I didn’t quite recognize and then written in white above the symbol read: Book of Magic. “Woah…” I breathed, staring at the book. It was real.

I dump my bag on the floor and read through the shelf while pulling books out and mumble as I go. ‘Even a book can be dangerous in the wrong hands.’ ‘Ignite.’ ‘Hell is empty and all the devils are here.’ ‘You’ll make bad choices. Sometimes you’ll choose the best of bad ones.’ ‘Tuesday is Fucked.’ ‘Everything’s a game. And now it’s your turn.’ I have a stack of about 10 books before I abruptly stop. "Next isle." I say and we walk up and down the library isles. I climb and jump to get books off of shelves and Aidan has to catch me a couple of times when I fell.

The witches explained that although they couldn't kill the vampire part of them, they could make it dormant so that it would only surface when Lisa or the baby called upon it, otherwise it would appear as if it didn't exist. Kamar, Alora, the witches, and Lisa, carrying the baby, head to the cabin. A half-mile walk was all it took to get to the cabin. Alora, Kamar, and Lisa and the child were the only people who could see the cabin after the witches placed protective wards on it; otherwise, it was invisible to everyone.

He needed his wits about him more than ever. Going back over the chain of events leading to his waking up in this unsettling place, he slowly remembered the tall, odd looking woman who admitted that she was an alien slamming her head against his. He’d never encountered an alien before, but he’d heard from other wanderers in his travels who had suffered some type of dealings with them that they could be cunning, devious, and nasty to deal with. More than once, he’d been warned to avoid them at all costs. Although he was unhappy about having run into one, he was actually surprised that it hadn’t happened earlier. After all, they’d been the ruling regime for an easy fifteen years. His luck

What have I discovered? There he was looking at the illumination with complete wonder. He wonders why the hall is like that, is this mysterious? he thinks but since he has never been a fan of superstition and the fact that he is a science student lets him conclude it must be some electrical wiring causing everything. He tries to open it but doesn’t know how to, it’s all flat lying on the stone table. He looks on the glass, it’s written, ‘Just wish’. Could this book be important, kept here?
