Just care? I thought, looking past him at the moonlight on the wall. There was a word for what Killian felt, and 'care' was far too small, too domestic a word for it. It was a devotion that bordered on a haunting, an attachment so deep and jagged that it felt like our souls were stitched together with barbed wire. It was beautiful, yes, but it was heavy.
But tonight, with the moon peeking through the curtains and the scent of him grounding me, I didn't want to analyze the weight. I didn't want to think about the "why" or the "how long."
