CEO's Substitute Bride

CEO's Substitute Bride

That was when all the employees released their breath and run to do their work. "Why boss is so scary?" One of the female pink-collar wiped the sweat from her forehead and slumped on the floor. "Go ask him if you have the guts." her co-worker rolled her eyes and left her on the floor. ####### Alaric - being a workaholic- forgot about his lunch meeting with Smiths' and engrossed in work. It was 12 in the noon when Gabriel popped his head from the door and cleared his throat. "Sir, it's time for lunch," Gabriel said with a cheesy smile.

That Night

That Night

“Another tick in the you-are-too-good-to-be-true column. Are you a serial killer?” He threw his head back in laughter. “I do have flaws. Thankfully not of the serial killer variety.” I narrowed my gaze on him. “Hmm, I’m not so sure you have any so-called flaws.” “You know nothing about me,” he pointed out. That was a challenge if I’d ever heard one. Time to test him and his interest level while showing just how observant I was. “You’re a workaholic who probably orders food in every day or has one of those meal delivery box services. Some big condo that overlooks the lake, devoid of personality or comfort. Your employees dislike and respect you at the same time.”

The CEO's Contract Bride: Marriage On Paper

The CEO's Contract Bride: Marriage On Paper

It felt good to get acknowledged. “I did a little thing with it,” I muttered shyly. “You have such keen eyes for details.” The ringing of the telephone interrupted Kenzie's reply so I waited. She was talking to the CEO, Bruce Stamford, a man known in the business for his charisma, appearance, and ethics. He was the perfect gentleman in the eyes of the public but at work, he was a total workaholic. What's wrong with being a workaholic, you would ask. Well, it's really bad when it affects the employees too.

Only You

Only You

Author's Pov He was greeted by his workers as soon as he entered his office. Many bowed down at him while others did not dare to say a thing in his presence. He only merely nodded at them. He was very cold and stern. A total workaholic. Would talk only to the point. Doesn't care about anyone but his business. Always looking for ways to win and be successful, even after having abundant success. That is what everyone said. Maybe they were all correct. Except they were missing a tiny detail. He didn't care about anyone but he truly cared about his best friend. The only one who has ever been with him in even the most difficult times.

One night stand with my boss

One night stand with my boss

Maybe she does, but I don't. I can't afford to have a wife now or even kids. I won't be able to focus on work. Without being told, I am a workaholic. I stayed behind even when all the workers had gone home to their families. I am married to my work. I want to prove to everyone who thinks that my being a player means I won't do well with my company.

I Refused To Marry My CEO Ex

I Refused To Marry My CEO Ex

When it was time to leave work, everyone in the secretarial department left one by one, but only Katherine was still working hard. Anne Marie walked through Katherine's desk, patted gently her shoulder, and comforted her, "Dear Katherine, happy overtime." Katherine looked at Anne with pitiful eyes, "Anne, you've been working here for three years. Boss is often cruel to everyone like this?” Anne leaned into Katherine's ear and whispered, "Our boss is a workaholic. You also saw him sleeping in the office without coming home. Only you in our department were asked to work overtime, proofing that our boss favors you the most."

Married to the Billionaire

Married to the Billionaire

He relaxed against my touch, leaning into my stomach. "You're going to stop working tonight?", he asked, looking at me almost as if I had become the workaholic. "I will, I can do it... you work way more than me anyways", I said and he looked obliterated. "You work while we eat, even in the middle of the night I've gotten great at writing in the dark", he said making me realize the obvious, I had turned into a severe workaholic. That was something I used to shame Nolan for being and now the tables were reversed, expect there was no shame from Nolan.

When Life Takes A Turn

When Life Takes A Turn

“What do you mean something happened to me? Nothing happened. I just overworked myself in the office last night. I didn’t notice that it was already midnight. All I need to do is to have an early rest, and I’ll be as good as new. Don’t worry, guys.” Hector’s eyebrows creased just a little in suspicion. As his father, he had watched the young man’s growth and knew his character like the back of his hand: Howard had always been a sloth at his core. He frequently played hooky when he should have been at school. His attendance and productivity at work had been spotty after graduation, and nothing in his attitude ever suggested him as someone who would work long hours and into the night for the c

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Mr. Kane Got Blacklisted

Keegan was absent-mindedly looking through the documents at the Vinci Rivera Group. 'I suspect the boss didn't pay much attention to my report just now. In the past, he rarely spaces out during work. He was so strict with work efficiency that he utilized his time to the very second. He's like a machine with precise calculations. He would clearly organize. If one asked the people around Mr. Kane what came first to him, everyone would unanimously think that it was work,' Aldor thought. 'But, he's been zoning out recently. It makes me feel like this workaholic machine has developed a bug, and this bug is very likely caused by his wife,' he thought again.

I am on chapter 1700 and trust me this has to be the only book here that I have not lost interest in,i.e, the chapters have not dragged on and you literally are on the edge of your seat throughout the book. Enjoyed the whole book except the last few chapters.Hope the story doesn't become cliched now

What makes this story good are the characters, mainly the lead characters. Unlike other stories where the leads are usually portrayed as someone omnipotent with multiple hidden excellent identities, both Stella and Keegan have their own flaws and weaknesses, which made their characters more charming

Accidentally Married

she asked pulling out her biggest puppy eye face she could muster. "I never said I was working today" he countered before she could get ahead of herself. Anette gasped because she had never heard him say he was not working. If there was no need to work he would intentionally create some for himself. He was what one would call a workaholic. "What plans do you have then?" "I don't want to tell you because I know you would tease me," he said taking the whole covers off his body and turning his body so his legs could reach the ground.

Just started this long asian novel (read7%). The story is interesting although the FL is dramatic and always overreacting. The chapters are too short so I'm still not sure where the story is going other than that they're newlyweds who are getting to know each other. Not sure if I'll finish.

Good story, but ending is abrupt without anything concluded or tied up with a bow. Atrocious mistakes in vocabulary and grammar. Lack of commas frustrating. Apart: nice character development, great story and setting. Need more reality in the life style of the very rich. - Moms don’t have sleepless
