So maybe…” I hesitate, my voice trailing off. “Perhaps the world is better off this way?” He probes, finishing what he knows I was going to say, arching a brow.

The fat boy commented with clear sarcasm in his voice. Everyone burst into laughter at his sarcastic comment except for the redheaded girl. “Well full disclosure, she is indeed the legendary mate-less warrior.” Everyone gasped at her statement. “That’s ridiculous! We were never told that the mate-less one existed and I can assure you that I’m a straight A student in history!” The fat boy bragged otherwise. “Yeah, how could that be?” The cute voice spoke up again and everyone did the same. They had never been told about the existence of the mate-less one, not even their parents.

Raven’s point of view. I was tied up in a dark room, with my hands and legs tried, and a gag put in my mouth. I scanned the room and saw four other girls like me, with our body covered with thin, transparent fabric. I gritted my teeth as I thought of how to free myself from the alpha of Blood Moon’s pack, but just then I heard footsteps approaching the room. “We must do as he says, if we ever want to end this war and get back our soldiers that he is holding captive.” A voice said.

“He burned it, Seth! He burned down my fucking bar!” “Damn it! Did he hurt you?! Where the fuck are you?!” “I just got in my car.” “Come back now!” I hung up the phone before I wiped the tears from my face. I wish someone could smack me or at lease wake me up and say that that was all a fucking dream. But, as I drove away from my normal location, I turned my attention to the bar that was getting massacred by the fire. That was not a dream at all. It was a fucking nightmare. That was not all that was, that was calling of a war.

Two hundred and some odd years old?”

She told me secrets I was not supposed to know. She said that there was a war that the king and queen started. They grew bored of it, so Anthony had to finish it. This war took place in 2101. It lasted one year. She said she wasn't born till after it happened, but her mother told her stories. "It was 181 years ago." Ms. Maria began to tell me as she helped me wash my body clean.

The Alpha has it. The first book had left its readers including me in a cliffhanger. I had always wanted to know what happened next on the journey of the main character. Actually it was not really about the world’s history, but it is just about the character travelling to different places in different times, discovering treasures, witnessing wars, anything that happened significantly on the year he had travelled on. And though it is a fictional story, it still has a touch of true world history in it, depending on where the character went and what time.

Each wooden ledge branded with a faded, handwritten label proclaiming— HISTORY. World War I. World War II. Forgotten battles in faraway places she’d vaguely heard of. The patriarchal pissing contest that stained our collective yesterdays recounted, retold, revisited in page after ponderous page. Heavy tomes groaning with the weight of mistakes made and hearts broken. Hopes dashed and success stolen. Forgotten lives buckling under the burden of dreams lost. She strolled, her eyes scanning the large letters embossed on covers puckered and creased. The dog-eared corners of aged paper discovered when the book was lifted, turned, opened.
