Tomorrow, she would sit across from Jake and discuss her manuscript, knowing that he would recognize the authentic emotion in her writing because it was emotion she felt about him. The prospect was terrifying and exhilarating in equal measure exactly the kind of emotional risk great romance writing required.

“I want a new one on the spot.” I furrowed my brows. “What do you want me to write?” He’s challenging me, so fine… let’s take the challenge! “What’s your genre?” he asked, now sitting on the leather chair opposite mine. “Contemporary romance, fantasy romance,” I answered, Joaquin giving me a single nod. “Alright. Then write something romantic,” he replied, giving more details. “A domineering man, softening to a sweet woman. Go.” I held the pen on my hand as I stared on the blank paper. I felt cold sweat on my back as I grew conscious of the fact that Joaquin, the famous author, watching me as he got a bottle of whiskey from the mini fridge beside his table.

he interrupted. “Stop following me Jax,” I commanded establishing my authority changing the conversation because at the end of the day he was just a massive fan of mine. “No, I want recommendations on books, preferably the slow burns with two people trying to fight their connection when they were soulmates from the moment they met but they were blind.” I know what he was doing. He was trying to describe our romance but ours was a tragedy, not a romance in my books anyway. I huffed annoyed and played his game, by saying “I would recommend Birthday Girl by Penelo-“

Otherwise, we’ll get caught. But he has plans now. “What type of plans?” “I am going to sweep you away, wife.” ** The beginning of a romance is like the first note of a symphony, a promise of adventures to come and emotions to be explored. It's a magical moment when two souls cross paths in a universe full of possibilities. At that instant, time seems to stretch, and the world around fades away, leaving space only for the protagonists of this story about to be written.

You're exactly who I'm writing for. Writing romance — the steamy, unapologetic, adult kind — is genuinely the thing I love most. I love slow burns that make you yell at your screen. I love the moment two characters stop pretending they don't want each other. I love writing the tension right up until it snaps, and then writing what happens after. This genre gets dismissed a lot by people who've never actually read it, but I think it's some of the hardest, most emotionally honest writing there is, and I'm proud to spend my time here. I don't plan on going anywhere. This is home for me as a writer, and I intend to keep building worlds and couples and slow-burn chaos for as long as readers keep

Author's POV What is Romance? this is the question I always asked myself and I found that........ Romance is the language of love. It is the way that you show your partner that you care about them. Every person has their own idea of what they might consider romantic. For some, it will be dressing up for the other or buying flowers or jewelry. There is no way to know what is romantic without knowing the person. Romance is created by the feeling that you are genuinely cared about. All romance has one thing in common; it must show the other person that you care enough to find out what is meaningful to them.

And I like to go into a lot of detail, both physical and emotion wise, because I feel that the intensity of a love scene, it brings out exactly what the characters feel for each other, it shows the depth of their love, helps strengthen a relationship.
