Writing Awards Novels & Stories

I smiled, though it felt more like a grimace. Before we could continue the conversation, a man took the stage, his voice booming through the microphone. “It’s time for the presentation of awards!” he announced, and the crowd erupted in applause. The awards ceremony took about thirty minutes, and when it was over, the gala was coming to a close. Adrian had won five awards that night. The two that stood out to me were ‘Richest CEO of the Year’ and ‘Best CEO Humanitarian of the Year.’ He was the only one with five awards, and I couldn’t help but notice how Carlos seemed to fume at the recognition Adrian received, though he tried hard to hide it.

I didn't ask for specifics. When it came time for the awards, the award people played the usual game of announcing the winner in each category - which did not include us. One of those "winners" was actually a second place award winner, because the grand prize winner was first in it's category, but like the Oscars and other award shows, it had to be announced last and they could not telegraph it.

According to the notice, every year, each department at Wexford Ivy recognizes the most outstanding researcher in their field. From what I had learnt about it, the award was given to the student who demonstrated exceptional research skills and made significant contributions to their field of study. The winner received a generous grant to further their research, as well as mentorship from a renowned expert in their field and a guaranteed publication in a top-tier journal. It was a game-changer for any student's career.

"Caelen Ryn, for his innovative work on the Harlow campaign revision." My head snapped up. "What?" Rachel was grinning beside me. "Go on. They are waiting." "I did not know there were awards." Aldric leaned close, his voice warm with obvious pride. "I may have nominated you. Now go accept it before they think you are refusing." I stood on shaking legs and made my way to the front of the room while applause filled the ballroom. Every single person in the company was watching me walk toward that stage, and I could feel their eyes assessing, judging, wondering if this award was legitimate or just corporate favoritism.

“Can’t a man change after two decades?” Everyone at Freya’s table laughed. Leon got up on stage to receive his award. There were two other awardees next: the Social Butterfly Award and the Most Dramatic Career Pivot Award. Host: “The next two awards are... a little special. So special that the winners are getting actual crowns. Because why not?” An assistant brought out what appeared to be a crown for a man and a woman. Next to the crowns were two glasses of wine.

Policy reforms and initiatives were implemented to encourage adaptability at the community and national levels, fostering a more resilient and sustainable future. The Luna Adaptability Awards continued to be celebrated annually, honoring individuals, organizations, and communities that had made outstanding contributions to the field of adaptability. The awards served as a platform to recognize and share best practices, inspiring others to follow in the footsteps of those who had achieved remarkable feats through their adaptability and resilience.

Aurora has been competing for seven years and had won the Gold Top Award once. All others were categorized awards. The bet between Aurora and Isobel was the trophies, but whoever got just one categorized prize, that would be considered a win. If they both get or both don't get an award, it was even. The truth was that even categorizing awards was not an easy task. Not to mention that probabilistically, there was only a one in ten chance. Looking at these contestants alone. Who wasn’t a hotshot genius in the design world? There was also no shortage of designers from global high luxury clothing brands.

She read the message. The paper had been nominated for a governance excellence award — the annual recognition by the governance and public administration field for work that had produced significant impact on governance practice. In the award's twenty-year history, no medical methodology paper had ever been nominated. This was the first. The nomination required formal acceptance. And a presentation at the awards ceremony in three months. She read the notification. She read it again. The people who had spent careers watching governance work — who had seen the full field and knew what significant impact looked like — had looked at what she had built and nominated it.

I could hear him because it is not that far from where I am standing right now. I couldn't move. I was completely surprised by what he just did. He didn't forget that I like vanilla-flavored ice cream. "Your treat! Your treat! Your treat!" the crowd screamed repeatedly. Dale just grabbed the 1st place award in the feature writing category at the University's Power of Pen workshop. More than 500 aspiring writers joined the said workshop from different universities and Dale secured the 1st spot. I couldn't stop myself from joining their cheers. I'm so happy for him.

“This was delivered this morning. It is an invitation for an awards gala. Your organization is one of those on the guest list.” I raised an eyebrow, surprised. “There is an award night? Are you serious?” Damien confirmed, as I accepted the invitation from him. “Yes. The awards this year are presented for excellence in business development. In view, they appear to be awarding those organizations which have developed and spearheaded improvements.” I felt a wave of joy. It has been a tough year, and this invitation was a clear testament that we were indeed going to reap the fruits of our labor. “This is fantastic, Damien,” I said, breaking into a smile. “I appreciate you informing me.”
