“The Moon Goddess gave me a second-chance mate.” Silence filled the room. For a moment, I hoped they’d take the news calmly. After all, a werewolf getting a second chance after losing a mate isn’t something that should be considered a curse. But Xavier suddenly laughed. At first it was just a soft sound, but it slowly turned into a bitter laugh. “And who do you think it is?” I looked at him. “Kael.” Xavier’s laughter stopped. The four men exchanged glances before turning their eyes back to me. Their expressions changed so quickly that my chest felt tight.

"Alpha Finn has created an army of half-bloods like Xavier that are highly susceptible to his command." Half-bloods like Xavier? Suddenly, the memories that had eluded me about him healing me came back and I could taste his blood at the back of my throat. Xavier was a vampire and werewolf hybrid. Was that why Alpha Finn had thought he would mindlessly obey his command? In my brief internal monologue, it seemed like I had missed something because when I looked up, Xavier was pale. He looked at Alpha Jaxon with wide eyes full of horror. "But that means…"

Still no character growth. But here's the kicker - Xavier wasn't just an emotionally constipated ex. He was a full-blooded Alpha werewolf with a god complex and the patience of a toddler. If he were easier to get rid of, I would've ghosted him into another dimension by now. I glanced down at my ankle - still sore, still wrapped - and then up at Xavier, who was radiating the kind of smug confidence only a man with Alpha energy. All right. Two can play this game.

I and Xavier rushed out of the palace gates, taking note of the doors that had already been closed and as we shifted into our wolf form, we rushed through the path that led to the village that we protected. For years, the Silver moon pack had protected the village. It was mostly werewolves that came from other settlements after their packs were destroyed by enemies or slavers and Xavier told me how they had accommodated them and protected them for years. It had been a long time since they came in contact with them and the only pack members from silver moon that had come in contact with them were the few living amongst the villagers.

"Do you wanna go out?" She muttered faintly. So faintly that he'd have mistaken it for a rush of wind if he was human. "What?" Xavier blurted out in disbelief, tightening his hold onto the bridge railing. Aster scoffed, "You have super hearing and for what?" "Sorry, I was just taken aback." Xav shyly averted his gaze and stared at the ground, unable to look her in the eye. "Are you serious?" She sighed, "You know how much I hate putting myself in this kinda situation so hell yeah, I'm serious."

To watch her making the first move. After Xavier's call, his inner beast wanted nothing more than to destroy everything. Even the mere thought of happening anything to his Fiore burnt him. There was no comparison between the heights of hate and resentment that grew in him for Xavier. That very moment he knew Xavier has started thinking of himself as more than just a human. He needs to be taught a lesson and for that reason, he got a call from Sinister who wanted to meet him. Rafael already knew what Sinister is going to say and Rafael already made up his mind.

We can smell other werewolves, humans, and rogues. What are rogues again? Rogues are werewolves that have no pack due to being kicked out or who chose to leave. They are generally weak without their pack and unless they are able to integrate themselves into the human world, they won't survive very long. Your parents were lucky because they had each other to keep strong and we're able to live outside of a pack. What about me? I have no pack.

His jaw clenched as if he knew exactly what was happening. Claws burst from fingertips. Eyes glowed—some gold, some blood-red. Teeth lengthened into fangs, tearing through gums. Their skin rippled, hair sprouting where there should be none. “Oh my God…” I whispered, stumbling backward. The men had turned into... Xavier’s own transformation was the worst. His bones cracked loudly, his back arching as he groaned in pleasure—or pain, I couldn’t tell. His eyes burned crimson, and when he grinned, two long fangs gleamed under the light.

The ones that shifted had some kind of black goo dripping from their mouth, it was absolutely disgusting and i knew it had something to do with whatever gave then this strength. Shifting to my wolf-man form i rush over to the fight and once again i begin to tear into the rogues. One thing I wasn't prepared for though was the rate at which they healed. Not only did they have speed and strength their healing had increased as well and i immediately knew this would be trouble for us. The empty feeling spread through me again and i turned to see one of our pack members fall face first into the ground dead. This angered Xavier and i because these rogues had not taken one but two of our family memb

He had made a deal with the elders, agreeing to fake a relationship with Ariel in order to protect her from those who sought to exploit her unique abilities. Xavier's wolf heritage ran deep within him, and he understood the power and responsibilities that came with being a mate. He had seen firsthand the devastation that could occur when a mate's inner wolf awakened without proper guidance and control. He had witnessed the pain and destruction it had caused to loved ones and the innocent.
