Knowing his life was completely forfeit, and driven by the frantic desperation of a cornered animal, Xavier did not beg for mercy. He chose to fight. With a loud, guttural roar, Xavier’s body violently expanded. The fabric of his expensive tailored suit ripped to shreds as thick, dark brown fur erupted from his skin. His bones popped and cracked loudly, shifting his human frame into a massive, heavily muscled four-hundred-pound wolf in a fraction of a second.
