“Malachi Sinclair.”
“How did you get in here?” Malachi asked, and frowned because he still couldn’t smell his scent.
“I was struck by lightning when I was 17,” he said, with a smile, as he caught Malachi staring.
“Lichtenburg figures usually disappear after a few days,” Malachi said.
“I guess I’m special like that,” he said, and sat down. There was something very odd about him. Even though he smelled human, Malachi knew he wasn’t.
“You have me at a disadvantage. You know my name, but I don’t know yours,” Malachi said. The man’s mind was completely blank, and he had only encountered that once before in his life.
