Her lashes fluttered as she looked up at him. She watched his eyes slide over her face, lingering on her lips. And without even realizing it, she leaned in. Her breath caught as their mouths nearly touched. He didn’t move. Neither did she. It was ridiculous. She shouldn’t want this. She shouldn’t even be here. But maybe—if she kissed him just once—maybe she could stop needing him. Maybe the taste of it would be enough to finally forget. Hana inched her lips forward, her heart banging against her chest, her body trembling with the weight of it.

Her wet thighs slid apart with little conscious effort, and she sighed when the cloth went between them. She knew now that a crisis of some kind was approaching, an unknown pinnacle of physical sensation. Every part of her was filled with a deep, sweet yearning, laden with a hunger that she couldn’t quite define. Maybe this was the ‘desire’ the books spoke of: the rapture, the very transports of passion? It seemed almost incomprehensible that she should feel it with these women when the idea of a man made her shudder, and yet somehow she was helpless to resist.

Author’s POV Raya’s skin was on fire. Her chest heaved with every breath, but the burn within her did not fade. It wasn’t the same kind of heat that had ignited last night, the kind that had curled and sparked between her and Humphrey,no. This heat was different. It was aching. A yearning. A need. It wasn’t pleasure. It was longing. The feeling of being pulled away from something vital,like a fish struggling on dry land, desperate to return to the water. Him. The bond. It was calling her. Like an invisible thread tied around her chest, tightening with every second that passed without him.

She tasted like sweet candy and he couldn’t get enough of her. The fall was far longer than I had imagined. The wind howled in my ears, and the moonlight on the cliff shattered into countless silvery-white specks before my eyes. I can feel heat curl into the corners of my toes. I pull my legs closer to my body. "That sounds exhausting.” "It is." He leans forward slightly. "But it's also the most alive you can feel. Wanting something that much, even if you never get it." I get the feeling we’re not talking about poetry anymore. “So, what is it that you want so bad it makes you feel alive?" The words tumble out of my lips before I give myself the chance to second guess them.
