As soon as he stepped into the penthouse, Ary opened the email fully and began reading: Elena Ava Nolan, born December 25, 1997 to Jon Patrick and Gina Marie Nolan, both of Essex, Massachusetts. One of the men was still there, with his back turned, smoking. And then she entered. Yelena. Mask already removed. Gloves in her pockets. Her hair pulled into a tight bun. Her face clean and serene, but with the eyes of someone who no longer recognized limits. “You can go,” she said to the man. He didn’t argue. He simply nodded and disappeared through the side door. Jenn struggled to understand what was happening, her eyes wide with fear. “Finally awake,” Yelena said, approaching calmly. “I like to look into people’s eyes before the end.”

I yelled, startling Elena, causing the coffee mugs to slip from her crate and crash. "I'm sorry for startling you, Elena." I rushed to her side to help clean up the mess. "Relax, Yuri, I've got this covered," she reassured me with sympathy in her gaze. "What?" I asked, meeting Elena's stare. "Yuri, everything will be alright. Don't overthink," I nodded. Elena held the Alpha title and was also Luna. She was a superwoman, yet humble and caring for everyone around her.

Royce froze. Elena glanced from Royce to Kenzie, and Kenzie shrugged. "At least that's one less asshole to deal with." "Right." Elena's lips pursed in a grim line. She was quite beautiful, with blonde hair and soft green eyes. But there was an intelligence and fire there that showed her inner strength. That was what Vadym was trying to kill. But he won't get her again, not if I can help it. Royce may not think he needs a Robin to his Batman, but I can prove him wrong.

The couple suspiciously locked their gaze on Yelena. "And what made you worthy of our trust?" Lady Laenyra asked. Yelena's gaze shifted in her direction and gave her a cold smile. "I drowned thousands of men in seas. And feed children to lions. I'm a woman of words and I never break promises." Yelena responded coldly and Laenyra felt fear from her place when the woman's head creepily tilted to the side and smiled at her. Laenyra quickly holds her husband's hand.

“I will fly there tonight; he will talk one way or another.” “Doubt it, you know what the Russian bastards can be like, he’d rather have his throat slit. Then we have no information.” She is right, a man like Andrewkov will protect whoever has hired him. Like I thought he was protecting me only that turned out not to be the case. “And Yelena, what is her latest movement?” “She has stayed put, no movement. She is still at the Four Seasons.” “You reckon she knows we are here in Atlanta?”

Helena’s expression suggested she knew there was a problem and simply did not have the patience to deal with it. “Good,” she said, and the lesson dragged on until I was more than ready to leave. “You know, you wouldn’t have wanted me as your enemy.” “Why would you even think that you were valuable enough to be my enemy?” I asked, raising an eyebrow making her frown. As the other girls gathered their things, Helena called my name. The room fell silent. “The Alpha has called for you tonight,” she said, and my stomach dropped. “And he wants you ready,” she added.

But fundamentally about helping one woman escape her abuser. She hadn't realized she was stepping into the middle of international espionage. "Elena never mentioned any of this," Ava said. "Maybe she didn't know," Frank suggested. "Or maybe she did know and didn't tell you because she knew you'd walk away." Ava's phone rang. Elena. "Put it on speaker," Agent Mitchell instructed. Ava did. "Elena? Are you okay?" "I'm safe. I'm in Boston." Elena's voice was strained. "Ava, I need to tell you something. Something I should have told you from the beginning."

She pressed down with all her weight. “Then die together, Wendy!” I beat my chest in helpless rage and glared at Yelena with resentment. This was all my fault. I had dragged Hunter into this. If I had not been stupid enough to fall for that heartless Jacob, we would not be in this nightmare. Yelena laughed before her face twisted with rage. She splashed gasoline all over the glass enclosure and flicked open the lighter in her hand. “This is what happens when you mess with me. Burn in hell, Wendy!”

“Train harder. Get stronger. But know this… I am not letting you go again.” He shifted into his wolf and disappeared into the darkest spot of the trees. I stood there shaking, my body still buzzing. Nyx stirred again, her voice soft and clear this time. "He feels like home because he is truly home. But Kael’s love still burns inside you. And Cassandra is watching. Be careful, Annie. The real battle is just beginning..." I walked back to the Omega quarters on weak legs. Scarlett was still there, guarding my pups. She looked at my face flushed with worry and messy hair but didn’t say a word.
