Nyx stirred again, her voice soft and clear this time. "He feels like home because he is truly home. But Kael’s love still burns inside you. And Cassandra is watching. Be careful, Annie. The real battle is just beginning..." I walked back to the Omega quarters on weak legs. Scarlett was still there, guarding my pups. She looked at my face flushed with worry and messy hair but didn’t say a word.

The hallway was suddenly filled with students whispering. I tried to pull away. “Let go of me…” “Miss Elena,” the Gamma’s voice cut in, firmer now. “Answer properly. What is going on? Why are you all so disorganized? Is this school now a playground?” His voice echoed and I froze, My mind racing. If I spoke wrong… everything would change. “I..I..” “Oh please, who are you to tell me what to do?” Lilliana scoffed loudly, flipping her soaked hair back. “Do you know who I am? I am the real Alvarez's daughter.” Then her eyes landed on Uncle Cassian on the wheelchair.

"They died when I was young." "I'm sorry." "Don't be. They're with the moon now." --- Lena was quiet for a moment. "Tell me about Elena." Kael's heart lurched. "What do you want to know?" "Everything. Who she was. Why she gave me away. Why she trusted you." Kael took a breath. "Elena was a vampire. Young, brave, determined to protect you. She came to my pack seeking shelter, seeking allies." "And you helped her?"

Lena's POV. “You are nothing but a clown I raised. You will die worthless and nobody will think you ever existed, not me, not even Dominic,” Elaine fumed at me with a knife in her hand. I pulled back breathing rapidly. She launched at me, screaming furiously, and I ran in any direction, my heart throbbed and my hands trembled. She was a few inches from thrusting the weapon at me when I tripped on my feet and fell to the ground.

Lucas froze, and so did Caleb and I. "Dad..." Her voice quivered, sending a pang straight to my heart. "Elena, calm down," Jake's voice reverberated, stirring within me a primal urge to tear him away from her for a moment. "They were just in my old room," she blurted out, her words rushed and frantic, "They must be in my old room. I-I have to...I have to get to them." I clenched my fists tightly to my sides, restraining myself from rushing into the room. I knew exactly who she meant, and so did Lucas and Caleb. She was referring to—Mom, Dad, and Oliver.

"My Beta Assistant used considerable effort to bring her back from the Sunstone Territories." Luna Silvertail's eyebrows rose with interest. "She's a genius healing specialist," Yvette continued, her voice carrying just enough to attract the attention of nearby wolves. "Master Elara's chosen disciple, known internationally as Elena, but in Northern Territory as Audrey Winter." I fought to keep my expression neutral, though inwardly I was stunned by Yvette's grand introduction. She was painting me as far more significant than I actually was, creating opportunities for me to shine among Central Territory's elite.

Madam Yelena being Madam Yelena had immediately nodded her head with a smile on her face and responded with a; "Of course, Alpha Ares. Whatever you say will be." While I stood there with my mouth gaped open because firstly; I was blatantly ignored, but what had I expected? I was freaking kidnapped, I didn't expect to ask for my opinion or anything. And secondly, Madam Yelena smiled. The grumpy old lady never smiled at anyone. It was almost like she was in love with Ares, but I knew it was nothing short of motherly love. I knew she cared greatly for Ares and would do anything for him.

Upon seeing Melanie arrive, Yelena approached her and said, “They told me they had a surprise for me. I didn’t know the party was going to be held outdoors.” Yelena knew Melanie was pregnant, as they stayed in the research base together. She was smart enough to guess that Melanie was hiding her pregnancy from the Yorks for a particular reason. Although Yelena was a member of the Yorks, she hadn’t yet regained her memories. She wasn’t as close to the Yorks as she was to Melanie, and she therefore sided with Melanie whenever something happened.

“Why doesn’t he know that?” Judging the Amazonian, Yelena made a face of disgust. She wasn’t in a position to speak when she didn’t even conceal the presence in her movements. Then again, the Amazonian had no requirement to practice stealth. She wasn’t an assassin. She was a mercenary. It was different.

"She tried. You didn’t care enough to hear it." Ava didn’t stop. "You want to know the funniest part? She didn’t even need your life. She was Elena Valenti. She had guards, cars, money, a father who could buy your airline if he got bored. But she gave all of it up to stand behind you." Julian gripped the phone until his knuckles went white. "I didn’t know." "Because you never asked." Ava’s voice dropped. "You loved having a woman who waited, cooked, packed, forgave, and never made you feel small. You didn’t love her. You loved the service."
