Something that actually reflects where I’m at now, messy, a little angry, and trying like hell not to drown in it.
“Alright,” I say, tapping the side of my glass. “Let’s see what we can build from that.”
The song continues pulsing through the house, sharp and unapologetic. Something electric threads through the beat that immediately stands out. Lauren’s eyes are lit up, the kind of spark I haven’t seen from her since we were skating together last. She leans closer, excitement bubbling over as she starts moving subtly to the rhythm.
