As if she vanished into the air. "Dyrroth!" Herman shouted as he ran toward me. "What are you doing out here in the middle of the night?!" I tried to explain to him about the girl, but he didn't seem to believe me. I couldn't blame him entirely as the girl just mysteriously disappeared, as if it was all my imagination. Kali said it was because I didn't eat anything that I started seeing things. "We're gonna call the doctor tomorrow," Kali said, tucking me into my bed.

As they exited the vehicle, the insistent man sent another message, seemingly puzzled by her silence. Zyra replied, [Just a bit surprised, that's all.] [Where's your selfie?] he inquired, the undertone of curiosity evident in his texts. Yaslyn sneered. "He's probably using someone else's photos. Feels like one of those creeps who collect pictures." Horrified by the thought, Zyra, with a mischievous grin, sent the most unflattering selfie she could muster—a purposefully unattractive angle, expecting a revolted reaction. It was comical to see a tiny woman intimidating this husky wolf. "No! Let me by, Chelsea!" he hollered. Was he actually whining? "Ophelia, you haven't seen the zip lines or the waterfall!" As he was pleading his case one more time his phone lit up and began to ring. From a quick glance, I could see the caller ID said "Catherine" on it. My heart rate picked up. I didn't want to be obvious, but I couldn't control my eavesdropping. From the phone, Catherine's soft voice asked, "How are things going?"
