The clock struck five in the morning and the early bird Adhyayan woke up. A smile crept on his face as the events of previous night flashed in front of his eyes. Taking a deep breath, he rubbed his eyes groggily as he got up from the bed and walked towards the balcony stretching his arms. He was greeted by the mesmerizing view of the rising sun amidst the mountains at the horizon. He wanted to relish the picturesque of dawn with his girlfriend, his lifelong partner, the bubbly girl and fantabulous journalist, Anvesha Chatterjee who was like a drizzling rain in his monotonous, arid life.

She could use some of those aromatherapy oils she'd been saving for just a day such as this. Adrienne walked down the hallway to the bathroom, her towel and a book in her arms. Just the thought of the bath was already relaxing her. The hallway was dark; her roommates were probably already asleep. She opened the door to the bathroom slowly, the hinges creaking, and stepped barefoot on to the cold tile floor. It was smooth, but freezing. Adrienne walked on tiptoes to the toilet, where she set her towel on the closed lid, and knelt down next to the tub. She wanted to remember every single moment of this, every bit of this life. When she was done, she went back to her own room, changed into her workout clothes, and went outside for her morning run and a quick workout. The air was cool and crisp, and the run felt amazing. It cleared her head and made her feel strong. When she came back home, she felt a sense of calm, she walked to the kitchen as the maid was waiting for her holding a glass bottle with a smooth, thick liquid inside. It was her morning health drink, a blended mix of oats, chia seeds, and Greek yogurt. She took the bottle and had a sip. It was cold and healthy, and she could feel the goodness running through her body.

Regret crept inside him, mingling with his morning-after haze. He made his way to the large balcony, squinting in the bright glimmering light. The garden below was peaceful and serene but the tulsi tree's gentle rustle caught his attention. Veda stood beneath the tree, her back to him. Her wet locks cascaded down her spine, dripping water onto the sacred plant with a round metal silver pot. She wore a simple, yet elegant saree, its pale colors glowing in the morning light. Adyant's breath caught up in his throat. She was performing the tulsi pooja, her hands moving with reverence as the sunlight filtered through her beautiful face illuminating it like a serene sun itself.
