Rebecca Rebecca finally pushed her way through the crowd. A live band played in the far corner of the bar, which worked to bring in the hordes of people milling about. She slipped out into the cold night air, the valet guys moving toward her to get her parking ticket from her.

For a moment, I swear he can feel the chaos in my chest, the lingering chill from the astral plane. “I’m okay,” I manage, though my voice wavers. “It’s alright. I’m back.” His hand brushes against my forehead—a soft, protective touch. It calms me for half a second. Then he stands, offering his hand to help me up. I take it, but the second I’m on my feet, I pull away. “Where’s Corbin?” Briar hesitates. That pause is too long. “He… left,” he says, trying to keep his tone light. “While you were still sleeping. Something about tracking rogues and investigating possible traitors among the pack.”

[Thad’s POV] “Now you’ll be coming from here.” Grayson’s voice drones on and on, giving a play-by-play of how mine and Brielle’s music video should be. Though I’m exhausted, I do my best to listen until finally we can begin. I remain on the edge of the set while a production assistant leads Brielle to the large swing that sits in the middle of the sand with a large mirror beneath it.

What the- I pulled the kit and opened it, grabbing the burn gel, I handed it to her. Her lips curled up and she shook her head, "Why don't you go and give it to him?" She requested, ever so sweetly, "Because I really should get back outside," She looked at the backdoor, "See, Ashton is calling for me!"

The yellow mud slurry was like a wall, crashing down and blanketing everything in its path. Tyler used all the strength in his body to fling me out. By the time I could lift my head, I saw Tyler standing on the exact spot where I had been just now. The mud slurry had already submerged his calves. "Tyler!" He glanced back at me. Through that one brief glance, I saw something in it that I had never seen before. He flashed a smile at me. "Cleo, have I managed to teach you to be brave for once?" My eyes stung.

Bri’s breathing grew shaky and when I looked at her, she was sniffing the air. “What’s going on?” I asked her in a whisper, so only she could hear me. “I smell something…. Delicious,” she whispered back, her voice tremoring. “It’s like…. Hot chocolate with those little marshmallows. But not the powdering hot chocolate… homemade hot chocolate.” “Is it Alex? Because of your mate bond?” She shook her head, allowing her long auburn hair to fly around her face. “No… he smells like the earth. Fresh mowed grass and pine,” she answered. “Nothing like this….”

Point of view: Wren "You're safe," Briar said, gripping my hand so tightly it almost hurt, her human eyes wide with a fear that had nothing to do with pack politics and everything to do with pure, simple love, the kind that had never once cared about titles or bloodlines or blood moons.
