The trance in her mind was broken when she heard him introduce her. "Guys, this is Catherine, our new little fish," said Miguel, who soon moved away from her as Diego approached to shake hands with the newcomer. "Welcome to the shark tank, dear. I'm Diego, your teammate along with Rogerio, that unfriendly guy back there," he said, pointing to the friend who was approaching. "I just didn't run to introduce myself," Rogerio nodded his head to the side as a way of greeting her. "Welcome to the shark tank. I'm Rogerio, as the speedy one over there has already presented."

They should know that you won’t be their punching bag anymore.” I took a deep breath, feeling a surge of confidence. “Roy,” I called, my voice ringing out. He turned, still recovering from the surprise of Jax’s true identity. “I want you to remember this moment. You may think you’re untouchable, but you’re not. Your cruelty will come back to haunt you.”

So rather than do any of the two options she had in mind, she remained frozen on the spot. He noticed her lack of further movement and smiled at her- or at least she thought that was what he was aiming for when he contorted his features, “I didn’t get to introduce myself properly, I’m Roy.” He spoke up, although his voice was still that rumbling baritone, it didn’t sound as harsh as it did when he had announced himself earlier in the day. “Kylie.” She replied as if in a trance.

“Get straight to the point.” Carson said, “Sir Ares is the crown prince of Imperial Capital, Young Master, whereas you’re Yorks Stronghold’s young master. You both have equally unrivaled good looks and outstanding talent, but why did you suffer a crushing defeat? I stepped between them without thinking. “Enough!” I yelled. “Both of you!” Roy stared at me like he didn’t recognize me. “Hailey, he’s dangerous.” Ryan’s eyes flicked to mine, warning sharp and desperate. “He’s always been like this,” I said slowly, forcing the words out. “You know that.” Roy’s brows furrowed. “What?” “He doesn’t change,” I continued, my voice shaking but steady enough. “He doesn’t care who he hurts. That’s just who he is.”

Jay growled taking my attention that was fully focused on Ved but as soon as I moved my head, I realized that Jay was already up his feet which me and Ved was totally unaware of. I glanced towards the entrance of the hall to see Roy walking in but for the first time without his secretary. He had his professional attire on with his long hair gelled back to a small ponytail giving a very serious look. Something about his expression told me that he was here for business but when his eyes shifted from Jay to me, I could clearly see the warmth in his gaze.
