Chapter Two: The Man Who Looked Twice Nora’s POV — The night was quiet now. It's too quiet. The leaves crunched beneath me as I dragged my aching body across the forest floor. My feet were bleeding, my arms scraped, my heart… well, that was already shattered. I didn't even know where I was going. There was no home waiting for me. No pack. No one. Just me… and the empty cold. "Perhaps this is it," I whispered to myself, falling against a tumbled tree. "Perhaps I will die here, and nobody will care."

' My mind was playing tricks on me; there was no one else, and I had checked every room, hadn't I? Of course, that nagging little voice inside me was telling me different. My voice had a name, Eclipse. 'We have to go back and find them.' She said, knowing I would do so without question. 'Can you pinpoint where it came from?' I gasped, still coughing hard, my human senses completely useless with all the noise and smoke, leaving me confused and disoriented.

How can humans be so greedy and selfish?”

Suddenly, a commanding voice reverberated through the void, pulling me from my reverie with its otherworldly resonance. "Little thing," the voice called out, its words echoing through the cosmos like the distant rumble of thunder. Startled, I responded tentatively, my voice barely a whisper in the vastness of space. "Who... who's there?"

I hesitated, my legs still unsteady, but the alternative—staying here, exposed and vulnerable—was worse. As I boarded, dropping coins into the fare box with trembling fingers, I found a seat at the back, away from prying eyes. The bus lurched forward, and I pressed my forehead against the cool window, watching the campus recede into the night. But even as the distance grew, the weight didn't lift. Nolan's voice echoed in my mind, a relentless loop: "You belong to me now. Whether you admit it or not."

Every breath was an effort, every heartbeat a reminder that she was still somehow alive. But she wasn't alone. A figure stood at the window, silhouetted against the pale morning light. Tall and broad shouldered, with an unsettling stillness that made Anna's instincts scream danger. "Who are you?" Her voice came out as barely a whisper, raw and broken.
