Nothing is in between. “You’re new here?” Sultry seductive voice. A high-pitched voice of a woman fills my ears as I stare at the market below me. I am at one branch of this tree, looking down like a king to some shitty wolves as they made the deal to some strangers in their life.

They really never gave up, did they? What a waste of time. Those idiot cops should spend less time chasing me and more time catching the bigger rats hiding inside their own department. Instead, they kept wasting their time hunting me down. I let out a quiet scoff, tightening my grip on my phone. “Eiser, what’s with the face?” Edward Stood chuckled. “Come on. Enjoy the party, man.”

It was like that piercing gaze was haunting me—something I wasn't necessarily unfamiliar with. I shook my head to regain my concentration and tucked my necklace safely into my tunic as I made my way up to the small platform where Eddie was waiting for me. Apparently, he would be conducting the introductions. When the crowd began to settle, Eddie started his speech. Despite having heard the same rhetoric a dozen times over I should've still been paying attention out of respect for Eddie, which made his annoyed look completely warranted when he had to nudge me after apparently introducing me to the crowd.

His room was not too large but neatly arranged despite the weary fittings used. The TV was a used one, it was neat also and free from Dust though Eddy never turned it on for once, his eyes wandered around the room as he caught something standing up to pick it. If he doesn't want to say anything,he wouldn't mind, if he wastes away. Eddy was quiet. Even if he snare or squinted, it cannot be seen. Who was going to see that when he was blindfolded. But he knew that if he died there, no one was going to know and as it is, he cannot be saved. There's only one option left, say what he knows. " I will tell you who wants to wipe the entire Anderson's family off and the one responsible for your sister's disappearance…" he began. By the time Eduardo returned into the Mansion,he got dressed and was stepping out when he saw Jenny. The duo stared at each other.

She wiggles her fingers at Eddie as she thinks, “What do we have on the trackers?” Eddie hums, “He’s still at his headquarters, or the bead is at least. One sec.” Eddie taps at his tablet and brings up a live audio feed. “…the fuck is he? He can’t have just disappeared! He’s not that good, for the Gods’ sake. I don’t care, just find him.” Sansom’s voice comes from a speaker by the screen. “Bastard, he’ll pay for this. FUCK!” He’s screaming, not stable at all. She smirks, Crow seems nervous.

He had always had a rough idea of where he was. Edward came to a stop when he picked up the sounds of someone talking. It was an odd time for people to still be up talking. He put his ear to the wall in an effort to pick something up. It worked to some degree, he was able to hear some words. “....Cathedral… sniper… vows… fire escape… assassination…”

“Ed, wake up.” Eddie jerked violently awake, breathing like he had been dragged up from drowning. He looked around with wild and confused eyes. “What? Are they coming? Did they find me? Where are they?—” “Calm your paranoid ass down,” he answered sharply. Then he smoothed out his voice like silk. “You’re safe. They can’t find you here.” Eddie blinked, breathing hard. “They were coming… I heard them… I heard footsteps outside my door—”

I knew and felt deeply that deadly fear, that devastating feeling of loneliness, the tremor of being in the same place as the murderer, the anxiety of not knowing what would happen to him, the damage caused by not being able to reach anyone.
