Terry roared. “Not bad for Silvermoon lapdog,” the man said while cleaning the blood from his broken nose. He stood up, “I am Zack Violet, future alpha of Violet pack. Remember that name, cos it will be the last thing that you’d remember in your grave!” as he sneered, his nails turned violet and grew longer. Zack gave signals to his men to attack from behind; Terry quickly responded by back kick them with both feet while his hand touched the ground. Both men were flying to the air and fell. They became unconscious since Terry kicked them right on their vital spot.

Just like I've seen him a million times before. But never before had his singing drawn me to him like the ratman's flute playing. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a moment. Suddenly I was damn sure this was a mistake. “Hey Tate!” someone snapped me out of my despair. I blinked and saw Zack playing drums in Fallen. He was a bit smaller than the other boys, but he made up for it with a lot of muscle. He had energy for two and was always smiling. When we last met two years ago, he had grown his hair and wore a cap all the time. Today, he already had a dark brown hair curled into a rubber band and reached a little below his shoulders. And right now he was grinning at me like a monkey.

Every word Zack spoke is a jagged piece of glass spinning in my skull. Why didn't Zack hide the fact that he was working with Havenfall’s elite? Why bring an associate? And why the hell would he beg me to come back to Cocolink if he was trying to steal my seat? If it was a performance, he deserved a goddamn Oscar. The way he’d gripped my coat, the heat of his skin, the raw terror in his eyes when he thought I was going to reject him—it felt more real than anything I’ve touched in weeks.

He quickly walked over all smiles, and stretched his hand, explaining her preposterous question. “You wouldn't know this, but Cool is a brother of mine from another father and mother, he has helped me a lot, and I am indebted to him, I am Zack, what is your name?” he said with a flirtatious smile on his face.
