Zade leaned on the railings of the balcony as he twirled the glass of Barolo in his hands. A grim look settled on his handsome face, and his gray eyes remained expressionless, almost lifeless. He had done something he had never done in his entire existence: he spared a life. Zade scoffed. He was the type to immediately get rid of whoever caused trouble; why his instincts led him to spare the little girl was still a mystery to him. He had known all along that she was a girl, but he had watched her lie and cover up everything for his own personal entertainment.

Zade replied flatly. "I know. But Edith only did it to save you." "No, she didn't. There were a lot of different ways to save me. But she chose to use the one method that I couldn't accept," Zade went on, "you don't have to try to persuade me anymore, Zya. People like Meredith, who grew up in the upper class would still be prideful and arrogant even when they are in the rut. Simply put, she is looking down on us, she would never treat us as her friends."
