Lena's POV. I leaned back on the wall, using my fingers to claw onto the wall helplessly as I tried to calm myself down. I didn't understand what was happening or why I was in the room. The shadow kept coming closer and I was forced to stretch my hands forward. “Who are you… what am I doing here?” I stuttered. The shadow stopped and dropped its arm by its side. Then, he clapped his hands once and the dim light brightened immediately.

She was so weak so fragile, weighted like feathers. Zenith turned to take her to the pack doctor when suddenly he noticed something glinting in the moonlight on the ground near the pool’s edge. An earring. He bent down, still holding Violet with one arm, and picked it up, holding it up to the light. Then he took off, sprinting down the path towards the main house, his footsteps hitting against the cobblestones. Zenith was not careful, he bumped into people in a hurry, their startled gasps lost on him as he pushed past, not stopping to fucking apologize.
