After One Night
Ella’s POV
I glanced at my phone, it was 1:00 a.m. and the empty street felt as lonely as my heart. I didn’t want a cab yet. Instead, I decided on a walk, hoping to piece together the fragments of my shattered life.
Maya had woken up earlier, worried when I slipped out without a word. My body felt foreign—heavier, sluggish, my limbs swollen. I stared at my reflection in a shop window and flinched. How had I let this happen? A baby wasn’t in any plan I’d made.
