As soon as the smell of sickness hit me, I knew I was in the right place. Ahead of me running in the opposite direction were two women. A bright red wig was on the ground behind them as one of them pushed open the emergency exit door, flooding the hallway with sunlight and the ringing sound of an alarm. I could still catch them if I hurried–they weren’t too far yet. But then I saw something that made my heart stop. Ariana, her eyes closed, her body limp as she fell forward… I didn’t think–I just moved. “Ariana,” I gasped as I caught her in my arms. She was covered in the partially digested remains of the toxic pumpkin soup.

Uncle Sebastian informed me that he is monitoring some medical missions here. "Leave her alone, Aries. There's nothing wrong with your wife flaunting her body," Mama Sadie said. I agreed with a nod. I even noticed Mamita glaring at Aries. He eventually just sighed and nodded. Before facing Mamita, I smiled triumphantly and gave her a thumbs up. She only laughed. We eventually left the house. Outside the mansion, three cars and a van are parked. While Cascade, Luna, and Scyld were arguing, I noticed Ruki and Tyler playing rock, paper, scissors.

Blackwood reals his head in humour at the very suggestion, crossing his arms against his chest as a yellow-tainted smile paints his face. “You know that extinction zone you mentioned? Well, that was all her handy work. Don’t get me wrong, the rest of us managed to take a few of those monsters taken care of, but before we could do any more damage, she came out of nowhere and brought every bloodsucker down to their knees. “Do you already have the cure to test on these zombies?” Olga nodded. “I’ll begin immediately.” “Wow,” Imogene thoughtfully said. “This is really happening.” Oriana grabbed her sister’s hands. “If everything goes right, we’ll have three cured zombies in our midst. I don’t know about you, but if I was a zombie and was cured, I’d want to help the people who cured me. That means three more to add to our little army.” Imogene gave a wan smile. “Army? Is that what you’d call us?”

She scanned the crowd again and again, trying to see if she could spot Lance. On the third try, she got lucky. She sighted his stubborn head being shaken by some other boys while he sat with his legs in the water. Cara stepped out of her car and marched in that direction. As she zeroed in on the group, she saw the girl sitting next to Lance grab his head and place it on her half-covered big breasts which attracted a lot of laughter and cheers.

Doris' bag was still on her back. "Oh sh!t!!" Tessa exclaimed and they both stopped. In front of them were 3 zombies. They looked back briefly and the zombies were walking towards them slowly and robotically, making growling and moaning sounds. "What are we gonna do? We are so dead" Lilian cried. Tessa was stuck. She was out of options and solutions. She just kept looking around. "Somebody! Help us! Please!" Lilian screamed, crying so loud.

I quickly backed out of the driveway to head back to the packhouse when I felt a third. I mindlinked Luke, “What’s happening? Three warriors dead. Be home soon.” “I’ll find out,” Luke mindlinked back. I sped down the pack roads, rushing to get back, parked haphazardly, and ran into the packhouse. I entered to find Luke on his cell phone, his dad sitting at the dining room table as he paced the room. “What’s happening?” I asked, desperate for news. Luke finally hung up and said, “They found Jasmine. Charlie had her in a car. Some warriors tried to stop them before they were able to enter the pack, but their warriors shot ours down using wolfsbane darts. But we know she’s in there now.”
