“What’s up her ass today?” Troy laughs next to him, spinning his drumsticks between his fingers. “Does Monica ever not have a stick up her ass?” I shake my head at the two of them, letting them continue their banter as I adjust my guitar and imagine firing Monica for the umpteenth time in my life. Just as I focus back on my guitar, playing some of chords to the song we’ll be working on, the rest of the band walks through the studio doors. My band consists of the best of the best. Troy on the drums, Poe on bass, Luke on rhythm, Landon on keys as well as various other instruments. Then we have my backup vocalists: Josh, Elton, and Leo.

Her almond-shaped chocolate eyes behind those glasses are my favorite feature. When she saw my expression, she laughed. I'm sure I'm looking ridiculous right now. "Charm. My name's Charm," she chuckled. She sat beside me. "I know you're confused by us, we're like a k-pop girl group," she added. I chuckled at her remark. She's right though. "We're a band at school. Krish, Luna, Rumi, Scyld, and Cascade's band is called Endless Serenade," she said as she points at her friends on stage one by one as she mention their names.

I don't know why I always come to her or what has been left because there was nothing between us to start with in the first place. We drove all the way to come to a bar where the women didn’t know the two idiots I call my band members. Their reputations are steadily growing. Mike is the one who plays bass and Ryan who is also Rebel's twin brother is the guitarist and instrument player while Rebel is the drummer and while I am the lead singer, Tyler is the rhythm guitarist. Mike and Ryan like to fuck over and needs women like they need air for breathing, nothing serious but just fucking and some nonsensical shit. Tyler is no other than both but yeah good looks can do charms and one more perk

I cried inside and just hugged my own knee, I left my bands in the air. Because…. “THE WINNER FOR THIS BATTLE OF THE BAND IS NO OTHER THAN CNTRL S FROM MONDRIAN UNIVERSITY” I want him to win this battle.

Unconsciously, I nodded and turned away from the table that was full of teasing towards Ryu and me. What the hell did he just do?! I shook my head as I walked up to the veranda. From there, I could see the spot where the band was playing on stage, swirling the wine in my glass. “Their vocalist is Ren. They’re super popular.” I jumped in surprise when he suddenly spoke, after a few minutes of silence near where I was looking out. “I-I know,” I gasped, “Steve, Tristan, Enzo, Owen, and to complete the abbreviation, R for Ren. I knew this band so well!”

That was how loud it was! Adrian then went to look at each of my other bandmates to get the go ahead from them that they were ready to play and they nodded in reply. When he turned to look at me, I instantly froze. I didn't know if it was because I was nervous or if it was because of Adrian but either way I knew I had to shake it off. So I did and gave him an awkward thumbs up. He nodded back before he truned back towards the crowd and introduced our band. "Hey, guys. I'm Adrian, that's JD on lead, Warren on bass, Madison on drums, and we are The Decadence of The Fallen."

I shrugged again “Whatever that meant” She turned back to the table and ladled some punch into two paper cups, handing one to me “Seems You and Seth have been together for quite a while” “You could say that” I answered Smiling, she stepped closer and knocked her cup against mine “Well cheers to two rebels of society about to crash this god-awful prom” I grinned back at her and took a sip just as the band looped into a Green day song. Elliott drained her cup and beamed at me “Ready to get started?”

The awkward atmosphere as we greeted them only to be met with silence and eyes that sized us up was suffocating. I flipped through the company profile sections the moment I sat down, to familiarize myself with the groups, most of these bands we're to travel with have been... well blacklisted. By blacklisted I mean they all have bad reputations. Similar to our group, these groups had one or more than one member that has either been sued, thrown into juvie, or a child that's been in and out of the foster care system.

“Nope.” “Good. We can both be in the band for moral support.” Leah retrieves a pamphlet from her pocket and stretches it to me. “Here. We have our first gig on Wednesday. You can come, right?” I don’t think no is an option with Leah. Mira shrugs. “You should totally come. My baby needs all the support.” “You mean the band,” Calum corrects. “My baby.” She pecks Mira. “Deal with it.” Calum covers the gap between us, he puffs his cheeks and pushes his face close to my lips for a peck. I laugh for the first time since sitting with them. “Not in your dreams.” To Mira, I ask, “What’s the name of the band?”
